Birthdays are fun and joyous days to celebrate, especially for children. Kids wake up excited for a day filled with presents, cake, ice cream, favorite foods, parties, balloons and other fun ways to celebrate. Getting older, birthdays still bring joy as you learn to embrace the little things like a loved one making breakfast, receiving a card in the mail and a free dessert at your favorite restaurant.

There is even more joy and celebrating for a Christian, but it means you have more than one birthday and you can choose to celebrate so many blessings. A few of our favorite spiritual birthdays include the day you gave your heart to Christ and the day you were baptized. These are the first steps to having a relationship with Jesus and letting Him guide your life. These two spiritual birthdays are just the beginning as you continue taking steps of faith. You may not refer to every step as a birthday, but building a new company, changing your family dynamic, going on a missions trip – all of these faith-based steps you take as a Christian each birth something new. You break chains of obligations, regret, what-ifs, failure, uncertainty and many others that steal your freedom.

The day you were born was one that filled many people with hope and dreams as they pondered about the many milestones you would reach in life and the person you would become. Your Christian brothers and sisters are ready to celebrate many other birthdays with you through each step of faith you take. Know that your father up above is celebrating and cheering you on.

Here are the top eight songs for birthdays, including your spiritual birthdays! Scroll below to rank these songs!

I'm a Christian writer and editor residing in northern Michigan and thoroughly enjoy Christian centered music, movies, TV shows and books. A favorite song is "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)" by Hillsong United and I find many songs by Matt Maher, Tim Timmons, Third Day, Laura Story, Jeremy Camp and numerous other artists uplifting. A few of my favorite Christian movies include God's Not Dead, The Shunning, Do You Believe and many by the Kendrick brothers. When I'm not writing, I enjoy running, experimenting in the kitchen and spending time with my musically gifted husband and spunky daughter. I am so blessed and in awe of the work God is doing throughout the Christian entertainment industry.
