ABOUT THIS FILM
Clark Kent on Smallville

Tom Welling made his series-starring debut in Smallville as a teenage Clark Kent struggling to come to grips with his emerging super powers. Welling will make his feature film debut this Christmas, starring with Steve Martin, Bonnie Hunt and Hilary Duff in the family comedy Cheaper by the Dozen.

Born and raised in New York, Welling landed his first big break in 1999 with a six-episode romantic arc opposite Amy Brenneman on Judging Amy. He landed the role of Smallville's Clark Kent after a nationwide search for a fresh face to play the part.

Welling has relocated to Vancouver while filming the series. When not working, he enjoys reading, playing basketball with friends and running.

Lana Lang on Smallville
Kristin Kreuk stars as Clark Kent's secret love Lana Lang

Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Kreuk began acting in high school plays, but mostly focused on her schoolwork rather than the stage. Fate came calling at the beginning of her senior year when a casting director looking for new talent for the television series Edgemont tapped Kreuk for a starring role. It was her first professional audition.

She has starred on the Canadian series for three seasons and will continue her role while filming the third season of Smallville. In 2002, she was chosen as one of the new faces of Neutrogena and appeared in an advertising campaign for the company.

Kreuk currently lives in Vancouver and when not working enjoys reading and spending time with friends.

Lex Luthor on Smallville

Self-assured and possessed with a rapid-fire sense of humor, Michael Rosenbaum shaved his blond locks for the role he seems born to play - a young Lex Luthor in Smallville.

Born in Oceanside, New York, and raised in Newburgh, Indiana, Rosenbaum excelled in high school drama classes. Once hooked, he took on lead roles in college stage productions such as The Heidi Chronicles while attending Western Kentucky University and performing in regional theater during his summers.

Upon graduation with a degree in Mass Communications and Theater, he packed his bags and headed for New York to pursue acting. He quickly landed roles in off-Broadway productions and small independent films, and soon segued into regular appearances on Late Night with Conan O'Brien in a sketch called The Amsterdam Kids.

His first real break came when he got a series regular role on The WB comedy series The Tom Show, with Tom Arnold. The relationship with the network continued as he was cast as Jack in the New York comedy Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane.

Keeping busy over his hiatus, Rosenbaum appeared in the feature film Bringing Down the House opposite Steve Martin. He can be seen in the independent film Poolhall Junkies with Chazz Palminteri and Christopher Walken. Other film credits include Sorority Boys with 7th Heaven's Barry Watson and Sweet November with Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron. He also starred in the hit thriller Urban Legend and appeared in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Kevin Spacey and John Cusack.

Rosenbaum currently resides in Los Angeles. When not working, he belongs to an ice hockey league, a sport that he has played since childhood, and is a dedicated New York Rangers fan.

Pete Ross on Smallville

Having been in Hollywood only a few years, Sam Jones III is already making quite a name for himself. He recently completed leading roles in two feature films, Zigzag and Snipes, as well as having guest-starred in several television series. His role as Clark Kent's (Tom Welling) best friend Pete in the new action-adventure drama Smallville marked his series-starring debut.

Growing up in Boston, Massachusetts, Jones acted in local commercials. After spending a summer vacation with a friend living in Los Angeles, he caught the showbiz bug and decided to pursue a career in acting. Soon after he graduated from high school, Jones moved to Hollywood to follow his dream.

His first job was a memorable guest-starring role on NYPD Blue, in which he portrayed a troubled teen who stole a gun and hid it in his daughter's crib. From there, his career began to grow. His credits include an emotionally charged recurring role on C.S.I. in which he played a teen who accidentally killed a girl and then watched as his grandfather attempted to take the blame. He also guest-starred on Judging Amy as a sexually abused teen who gets mixed up in a drive-by shooting. Jones appeared in two episodes of the new R.L. Stine series The Nightmare Room on Kids' WB!

On the big screen, Jones made an auspicious debut. In the gritty independent drama Zigzag, he played the autistic 15-year-old title character opposite Wesley Snipes as his crack-addicted father. The film also starred Oliver Platt, Natasha Lyonne and John Leguizamo as his terminally ill mentor. Jones also starred in the independent crime drama Snipes, playing opposite rapper Nelly and Dean Winters.

When he is not working, Jones spends his time on the basketball court. He currently lives in Los Angeles and relocates to Vancouver for the filming of Smallville.
