Thieriot, Brad Garrett
Disgraced Navy S.E.A.L. John Summit (Diesel) is handed a new assignment:
Protect the five Plummer kids from enemies of their recently deceased
father -- a government scientist whose top-secret experiment remains in
the kids' house. |
PALE RIDER (1985)
Clint Eastwood as the Pale Rider of the Apocalypse finely crafted. |
PANIC
ROOM (2002)
David Bruce reviews:"The
panic room represents that "safe" interior place of the soul
were we go when we are threatened. It is here that we search for the inner
resources to get us through... |
PAPERCLIPS (2004)
Paper Clips shows us what happened in Whitwell when the school tried to find a way to teach diversity to the children of this community where everyone was alike. They offered a class on the Holocaust that would teach respect for people who are different. Little did they know that they had unleashed something that would grow so large as to include the world. |
PARADISE NOW (2005)
A look at the kind of person that can become a suicide bomber. The amazing thing is not that we meet people willing to kill so wantonly, but that we actually like them.
Overview |
PASSION DESERT (1998)
Behold. Become. |
THE
PASSION OF THE CHRIST (2004)
Mel Gibson's amazing release remained #1 three weeks in a row and biggest Wednesday opening ever and necame the largest religious film of all time! |
THE
PATRIOT
(2000)
Highly recommended
Grab friends & family and go! |
PAY
IT FORWARD (2000)
Changing the world through unmerited kindness. I was profoundly
moved by this film. What a great idea. In a closing scene hundreds of
people gather to honor the boy who taught the world to see other people
with a heart bent on committing random acts of kindness. I read one reviewer
who said this was Karma. It most certainly is not. Karma is our own stuff
coming back on us. These are rather acts of Amazing Grace. This is the
practice of giving to others unmerited favor. |
PEARL
HARBOR (2001)
David
Bruce reviews: "The whole film is filled with spiritual symbolism.
There are a number of crosses, streaming beams of heavenly light, the
beauty of an undefiled Eden paradise and the overall theme of saving grace."
|
THE PERFECT MAN (2005)
Holly Hamilton is tired of moving every time her single mom Jean has another personal meltdown involving yet another second-rate guy. To distract her mother from her latest bad choice, Holly conceives the perfect plan for the perfect man...an imaginary secret admirer who will romance Jean and boost her shaky self-esteem. |
THE
PERFECT STORM (2000)
This film demonstrates the uniqueness of humanity and the overwhelming
power of chaos. |
PETER
PAN (2003)
Review by Greg Wright: his film was produced to be released on Christmas,
almost ninety-nine years to the day that Barrie's play premiered in London.
On the surface, that may seem odd because it does not appear to be a Christmas
movie. But what better time of year to remind us that there really are
things worth believing in -- better things than Santa and fairies? |
THE
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (2004)
The Phantom of the Opera is a morality play, hidden inside a love story,
with big visuals and good music. It makes us think about our part in
this big morality play called “our lives.” And, upon reflection,
it will hopefully also make us think about the possibility of all our
evils being understood and remedied, of all our desires being fulfilled,
of all our needs being met. As such, Phantom truly is an “Angel
of Music.” |
PHAT
GIRLZ (2006)
Stars: Mo'Nique Imes-Jackson, Kendra C. Johnson. An aspiring plus size fashion
designer (Mo'Nique) struggles to find love and acceptance. |
PI
(1998)
Has God given us a hidden mathematical code in the Torah? |
THE
PIANIST (2002)
Review by Darrel Manson: The Pianist is a notable addition to the
body of Holocaust films. It continues to tell the story of what was perhaps
the darkest time in the history of the world. We need to continue to see
and hear that story, even when we want to turn away. |
THE
PINK PANTHER (2006)
Clouseau and his partner, Ponton, must unmask a murderer and keep their
boss, Dreyfus, from taking credit for the victory, all without bringing
the French legal system to a screeching halt. Get ready to be tickled
pink. |
PITCH
BLACK (2000)
Samuel
Ewing reviews:
As a prisoner Riddick is bound in a crucifix-like position which is
messianic symbolism here. He has a very disturbing way of being calmly,
matter of fact in speaking the truth while giving the facts of a situation... |
PIRATES
OF THE CARIBBEAN:
CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL(2003)
Review by Mike Furches: There is a curse that has doomed Barbossa and
his crew to live forever as the undead, where each moonlight, they are
transformed into living skeletons. The curse they carry can be broken
only if a once-plundered treasure is restored. |
PLANET
OF THE APES (2001)
Reviews by Matt McEver and Mike Furches reviews
"While this film is laced with excellent
direction from Burton it has so much more. From a technical perspective,
critics should be watering at the mouth to see this film again and again..." |
PLEASANTVILLE (1998)
If you could return to the Garden of Eden, knowing the future, would
you eat the forbidden fruit? |
THE
PLEDGE (2001)
David Bruce reviews: "The downside of a promise.
What the film illustrates, among other things, is the paradoxical feelings
that our culture has toward religion. On one hand we respect it and value
it. On the other hand we mistrust religious people. The bottom line in
the film, however, is not about religion. It is about the destructive
quality of an obsessive commitment to a job. Placing things before relationships.
It is a brilliant film..." |
POINT OF NO RETURN (1993)
Here is an amazing story of death, rebirth and grace. |
POKEMON.
THE FIRST MOVIE (1999)
Young son Jonathan said, "I like it, but it could be better."
I noticed that Ash is a type of Christ.
|
THE
POLAR EXPRESS (2004)
Mike Furches reviews: The story of The Polar Express
is one that all of us have lived through on some level. What about Santa
Claus? What about Christmas? If you are looking for innocence and a reason
to believe, not just in Christmas but in the “spirit of Christmas”
that lives in each of us, you will be pleasantly surprised. |
POLLOCK
(2000)
Darrel Manson reviews: "Giftedness can bring
destruction. Pollock
one of America's greatest painters was indeed the center of his own
universe. Even those closest to him were really only conveniences. I
don't know if he could have been as creative any other way. But in time,
his universe collapsed around him..." |
POSEIDON (2006)
Director: Shinji Aramaki Wolfgang Petersen. Stars: Richard Dreyfuss, Kurt Russell,
Emmy Rossum . After a tidal wave causes a luxury ocean liner to capsize,
a handful of survivors endeavor to find a way to the water's surface. |
POSSESSION
(2002)
Darrel Manson reviews: What is it we search for
in life? Fame? Love? A better position in our chosen field? Often what
we begin striving for gives way to something unexpected. That is how both
love stories in Possession come to be. Such is the romance genre. |
THE POSTMAN (1997)
Here is the importance of Hope in a sick and dying world. |
POWDER (1995)
A Christ-like miracle working boy parallels the story of Jesus. |
POWERPUFF
GIRLS MOVIE
(2002)
David Bruce reviews:
Parallels can be made to spiritual power. Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup
- three little girls who happen to have superpowers. Most people fantasize
or wonder about special empowerment. In truth however, everyone has their
own special giftedness (unique talents, personality, thoughts, situation,
abilities). |
Pride & Prejudice (2005)
Director: Joe Wright. Stars: Keira Knightley, Matthew MacFadyen, Brenda Blethyn, Donald Sutherland. The Bennett family wishes to marry off all five of their daughters, but headstrong Elizabeth (Knightley) is the fly in their matrimonial ointment. A solution seems to be found in the brooding Mr. Darcy (MacFayden), but it's hate at first sight for both... until something unexpected blooms. Based on the Jane Austen novel. Overview (dial up) |
PRIME (2005)
Director: Ben Younger. Stars: Uma Thurman, Meryl Streep, Bryan Greenberg. A career driven professional from the Upper East Side (Uma Thurman) is wooed by a young painter from Brooklyn (Greenberg), who also happens to be the son of her psychoanalyst (Meryl Streep). Overview (dial up speed) |
PRINCE
OF EGYPT (1998)
DreamWorks has released the most popular non-Disney film of all time.
This film is about Moses.
|
PRINCESS
DIARIES (2002)
David Bruce reviews: "The
film combines both freewill and predestination in a very interesting way.
MIA becomes a princess by her choice (free will) and because of her birth
(predestination)... |
THE PRODUCERS (2005)
Director: Susan Stroman. Stars: Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Uma Thurman. Max Bialystock (Lane), a faded Broadway producer, latches on to a get-rich-quick scheme concocted by his neurotic accountant, Leo Bloom (Broderick). But their plan to unveil the worst musical ever written takes a series of unexpected comic turns. |
PROOF (2005)
Director: John Madden. Stars: Gwyneth Paltrow, Anthony Hopkins, Hope Davis, Jake Gyllenhaal. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by David Auburn, "Proof" follows a devoted daughter who comes to terms with the death of her father - a brilliant mathematician whose genius was crippled by mental instanity - and is forced to face her own long-harbored fears and emotions. Overview (dial up speed ) |
PROOF
OF LIFE (2000)
David Bruce reviews: "Is there reason and purpose,
or do things in life just happen. Risking one's life to save another places
high value on human life. It seems, however, that Terry may have other
reasons for his self sacrificing risk taking for the husband:
1) Is he doing this more out of a love for the wife, Alice?
2) Is it a personal statement of his proof (purpose) of life?..."
|
THE PROPHECY (1996)
There is a war in heaven. Lucifer and Gabriel battle it out on earth. |
PROPHECY ll (1998)
Under construction. Graphics are up. |
PUNCH DRUNK LOVE (2002)
Simon Remark reviews: I was talking with my mother
about the film and she mentioned something she heard a critic say that
I really like: the critic said that she went into this film expecting
nothing and she got everything. I didn’t go expecting nothing, but
this film really does have everything. |
THE
PUNISHER (2004)
Review by Melinda Ledman and Mike Furches: Castle’s mission has
the unintended effect of placing his fellow tenement dwellers in danger.
Yet Joan, Dave and Mr. Bumpo rally for their neighbor, even at great personal
risk. This makeshift family – forgotten men and women with no one
to protect them – brings Castle the one thing he least expects:
redemption. |
