David Bruce reviews: What do you get when you cross toxic waste with a bunch of exotic spiders? Eaten. As every fan of classic spine-tinglers knows, given the opportunity and the right chemical enhancement, arachnids will grow to humongous size and wreak havoc upon humanity.

Review by Mauric Broaddus: Elektra, saved from her near-death experience by ninja collective The Order of the Hand, is dispatched by Kirigi on a mission to kill the widower Mark Miller -- a man who must pay for an act committed by his grandfather years earlier. As she aligns herself with her target, however, Elektra turns her back on the Order, putting her, Miller, and his daughter Abby, in grave danger.

Review by Darrel Manson: School violence, such as was seen in the tragedy of Columbine, raises many questions, most of which start with "Why?" In Gus Van Sant's Elephant, none of those questions are answered. Rather he gives us a look at the events without being judgmental. It doesn’t try to justify anything. It doesn’t try to explain anything.

Go to ELLA ENCHANTEDELLA ENCHANTED (2004)
Review by Melinda Ledman: Ella Enchanted was a WONDERFUL little flick. I came out of the theater smiling all over. It was clean, interesting, and well developed. The character of Ella sets an excellent standard for women and girls everywhere.

Betty Hamm reviews: It is interesting to watch a fiercely fought battle over a city that is in ruin. There is more rubble than buildings. Normality of life has stopped. Few families have been left intact. Childhoods have been destroyed as the children become spies and messengers. Fear is a normal condition here.
END OF THE SPEAREND OF THE SPEAR (2006)
A powerful story of reconciliation, social justice and repentance. End of the Spear shows us a kind of radical peacemaking that, in fact, has the the power to transform enemies into friends, without the need for the “satisfaction” of justice.

Big brother is watching you.

Review by Darrel Manson: The opening shot in the film is a church tower with a sign that reads, “Jesus saves.” The camera pans back to show the corporate offices towering over this. Perhaps the filmmaker wanted to emphasize the way a corporate culture dwarfs the values that we want to have. But it also, I think, serves as a reminder as we enter the film that ultimately, self-interest is not the way of Christ. We remember that reconciliation with God comes by way of one who “emptied himself” for us.

An inspirational look at the wonders of the human spirit and resolve.

Each era has its chaos monsters. Its a way of describing evil in a mythological manner. And each era has it own way of overcoming this embodiment of evil. Current mythology is unique in that it presents, not just one chaos monster, but multiple demon monsters to deal with..."
