A War in my Soul
RENT
As I watched this long awaited film version of the Tony Award winning musical "Rent", a war was going on within my soul..
I was not sure what that awe was from, whether the music, the story, the acting, the theater, whatever it was, I was not sure. But what I did know was that there was something powerful and that in some way Rent is a picture of all that is good about art.
In the last ten years, one of the most talked about Broadway musicals has been Rent. It won the Tony award for Best Musical in 1996 and has been performed in NYC and around the country since then.

One of the longest running shows on Broadway, "Rent" was the winner of the 1996 Pulitzer Prize for Drame, the Obie Award, the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, four Tony Awards and three Drama Desk awards.
