Read Scott Roche's interview with Relient K at the Rock the Boat concert this summer, and Jacob Sahms' review of the band's most recent non-holiday release: Matt Thiessen says "We've always tried to be ourselves in what we do
and all of us have a strong desire to be good influences on those that
listen to our music so that influences our life choices. We want to
make sure that kids looking at us can get something positive out of it." |

Other Movie Reviews This Week
Hitman
Maurice Broaddus | 11/21/07 | Movies Agent 47 is trapped in the circumstances of
his own choices and doesn't even realize the prison he's in. The most
he strives for is escape from the immediate threat to his freedom,
deciding to focus on the tree rather than the forest.
The Mist
Maurice Broaddus | 11/21/07 | Movies Buoyed by humor (despite its fatalistic
explorations of humanity under siege), the movie's roller-coaster
antics propel, if not always sustain, it even the though the movie
veers into heavy-handed territory with some of its ponderous dialogue.
Beowulf
Maurice Broaddus | 11/21/07 | Movies We're still far away from computers
capturing the subtleties of human expression, unless we're more
dead-eyed than I think. For all of the technological mastery, the movie
lacks a certain spark of vitality; maybe I should have watched the 3-D
version. Fred Claus
Jacob Sahms | 11/21/07 | Movies The movie might as well be the Parable of
the Prodigal Son, complete with commentary on how both sons have
screwed up. Children everywhere will reflect on the importance of gift
giving, the frustration of family and how to work it out, and so much
more. War Dance
Darrel Manson | 11/19/07 | Movies In War Dance, we discover that some of the
children in this refugee camp have found joy, meaning, and perhaps even
a bit of healing through music. The joy and hope that fills those lives
is more inspirational than any trophy could be.

New DVD, Music, Comic, TV, and Game Reviews
Live Free or Die Hard
CoachZ | 11/20/07 | Movies, On DVD The list of heroes goes on, from veterans
to the stay-at-home mom, or the young pastor that grew a church from a
living room Bible Study. These are the people that don't get enough
credit or attention. Yet they go on, being "that guy," as McClane calls
it.
The Princess Bride 20th Anniversary Edition
CoachZ | 11/20/07 | Movies, On DVD I love this story because of true love,
because of God's unfailing love for me. God knows I've doubted it and
been unlovable, but no matter what his love never fails me. This story
reminds me of that and that's why it is one of my all time favorite
movies. Connersvine
Jacob Sahms | 11/24/07 | Music, Interviews Music Editor Jacob Sahms spent some time in
dialogue with half of the worship team Connersvine, as Chris Wilson
took time to answer some questions. It wasn't that Hunter Smith didn't
want to be there... he was off punting the Colts into scoring field
position on Monday Night Football!
Mercy Me
Jacob Sahms | 11/22/07 | Music, Interviews Music Editor Jacob Sahms sat down with
MercyMe to talk shop, create world peace and dig serial comic books.
"I'm actually in love with Robin Parrish's Relentless and Fearless
books. They're total Sci-Fi/comic book-types of stories, but I can't
put them down."
Anberlin
Jacob Sahms | 11/20/07 | Music, Reviews I'm a fan of Anberlin's but I couldn't have
told you where all the "B-Side" songs came from, like which album, what
year, and what adaptations have been made. Interesting ideas are
wrapped inside, like explaining the "correlation between salvation and
love."
Maus
Rob Rolfingsmeyer | 11/23/07 | Comix, Reviews It's chilling to watch the transformation
from bad to worse. Sometimes we tend to forget that the transition from
owning your own business to ending up in Auschwitz fighting for your
life did not happen overnight.
Top 10: The Forty-Niners
Rob Rolfingsmeyer | 11/22/07 | Comix, Reviews What really helps to set this book apart is
Gene Ha's gorgeous artwork. The lighting effects and the light shades
of browns and tans really do give you the feeling that you are being
taken back to another era. Boston Legal (Season 3)
Maurice Broaddus | 11/25/07 | TV, Reviews Each
episode ends with Denny and Alan enjoying cigars and drinks. During
their nightly boys club sacrament, they realize that they enjoy what
few people have: true acceptance, true friendship, true love.
Veronica Mars
Jacob Sahms | 11/20/07 | TV, Reviews The show won't shy from taking a stand on a
few things, either. Veronica's detective skills lead her down paths
that require truth to be revealed. Anything standing in the way of the
truth will be dragged out into the light, kicking and screaming. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Yo | 11/20/07 | Games, Previews Is Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare the
premiere shooter we've been led to believe it is, or is it something
more run of the mill? The answer isn't easy, but thus far I'd have to
say the truth lies somewhere between the two.
