I'll make this exciting news short and sweet.

Starting today, you will once again be able to post your comments and interact with any of the reviews posted at HJ Live! The make-over continues. Check it out (and see below for more details).

Also if you have not visited HJ recently, I think you are in for some pleasant surprises. More reviews are going up. Videos are back. Fully illustrated reviews are appearing each week, and downloadable PowerPoint presentations with spiritual connections can be found on nearly all of the current movies. And if you haven't visited our music coverage lately, hosted by editor Jacob Sahms, I think you'll be astounded at what he's doing there. Enjoy!

As always, ALL are welcome: Jews, Buddhists, Conservatives, Liberals, Atheists, Agnostics, Radicals, Jesus-followers, and (after much debate) even Christian fundamentalists!
Opening Up the Conversation

We're excited about the prospect of user comments being part of the site, and what it does, once again!  But questions remain, I am sure...

WHERE?
User comments will be activated for selected posts at HJ Live!, depending on the article author's own preferences.  We're encouraging open interaction, of course -- but not every writer is in a position to afford the time required for that kind of conversation.  We appreciate your understanding in that regard, and still plan to host forums later in the year for more free-wheeling conversations!

WHO CAN COMMENT?
Anyone -- though vistiors to the site will be required to register in order to leave comments.  First-time comments from new users will be held for moderation. Comments from HJ Live! authors and editorial staff will have tags that appear next to the comment author's name, to help you quickly understand who you are interacting with. 

HOW DO I REGISTER?
On the HJ Live! navigation bar (the line with the logo), there is a link to register. You will be emailed a registration confirmation link, and when you click on that confirmation link you will be emailed a second time with your password.  You can then log in, as a registered subscriber to HJ Live! (Please be aware that site registration is separate from newsletter subscription.)

HOW DO I TRACK CONVERSATIONS?
Existing user comments, and a data-entry box for new comments, appear at the bottom of each post.  In addition, the sidebar on all other HJ Live! pages lists the most recent user comments.  (If you're looking for conversations on specific topics, you can track them down by searching topics using the HJ Live! search bar.

WHO MODERATES INITIAL COMMENTS?
Jenn and I will be handling this function.  We will approve initial comments within 24 hours.

What:  Hollywood Jesus Annual Gathering
When:  December 29-31, 2007 (Including New Year' Eve!)
Where:  Seattle, site TBA
Who's Invited:  Everyone (nominal fee TBD)

What's the agenda?  Movies and discussion on Saturday and Sunday nights, panel discussions and lectures during the day on Sunday and Monday, a keynote session Saturday evening, and a media clips party on New Year's Eve!
