The X-Files: I Want to Believe
An Apostate Agent
Maurice Broaddus
Sure, they've lost the sexual tension in favor of a bond of love, but
that's not the biggest hurdle to enjoying this movie. Mulder and Scully
are working the X-Files from the outside looking in, often wandering
around aimlessly looking depressed.
American Teen
Reaching Towards the Future
Elisabeth Leitch
God didn't say, "when you become Mr. Popular or Mr. Muscles, then I'll
love you." No, He loves us just as we are. As for those missing pieces?
Let's just say if we were each a sock, God would be the ONLY other sock
that would ever make us complete.
Brideshead Revisited
Where's Your Shame At?
Elisabeth Leitch
Religion or no religion, guilt is simply a part of human existence. We
are imperfect, we cannot escape that, and that pains us. If God created
anything in the architecture that constitutes guilt, it is simply the
perfection that our hearts long for.
Step Brothers
Growing Down Together
Elisabeth Leitch
As much as we all do need to grow up, sometimes we can lose sight of
some of the most important truths in the process. Even if we do need to
be adults and be responsible, it is also good to remember what it is
like to see the world as a child.
Boy A
Trying to Escape the Past
Darrel Manson
What does it take to forgive someone their past? How can those with
terrible pasts ever find redemption? Are we willing to let
reconciliation truly be a part of our lives and our world?
The Grocer's Son
From Isolation to Community
Darrel Manson
It is when people share in each other's lives that we discover that
connection to the mainland than reminds us that we are part of a
community. Without that community, we will perhaps never find any real
happiness in life.

Is Batman a Christ Figure?
CoachZ
This is a great movie, full of twists and turns, a bit disturbing yet
at the same time thought-provoking. The thing is, in real life there is
no man like Batman, but there is Jesus. He came to save us and He is
the only one who can.
What An Experience!
Rob Rolfingsmeyer
This movie stirred my mind and sated my imagination. With the emotions,
visuals and overall "feel" of the movie, it was a film that was more
"experienced" than watched. It went to some pretty dark places but it
truly stirred your thoughts beyond the celluloid.
To Job or not to Job
Maurice Broaddus Batman is more than a superhero and The Dark Knight is more than a
comic book movie. Both transcend their initial conception and show the
possibilities of what others of their ilk can be. There simply aren't
enough superlatives for this movie. |

Stop-Loss
Heart-Wrenching Drama
Jacob Sahms
War changes people. No one can make me believe differently. I'd say
that most trauma changes people, some for better and some for worse.
War is trauma at the highest degree, and this war has American soldiers
pitted against natives of another land.
The Suite Life of Zack and Cody
Lip Synchin' in the Rain
CoachZ
We don't have cable television so I had not heard too much about this
show. When I plopped the DVD in my kids were put into fits of laughter
and I was transported into the 1980s. Remember back then when silly
lines and even sillier laugh tracks reigned supreme? |
