27 Dresses and Moondance Alexander
Courtesy of Fox Home Video, you can be one of three lucky Hollywood Jesus News readers to win a copy of the Katherine Heigl comedy... or one of three lucky readers to win the new straight-to-DVD family film -- both due out this Tuesday, April 29.
To enter the drawing, simply reply to this newsletter at news@hollywoodjesus.com with either the words "27 Dresses" or "Moondance" in the subject line. On May 4, we'll draw three entries from the tons we know we'll receive for each title. We'll then contact you directly to confirm your mailing address. DVDs will arrive a couple of weeks after that. |
Prince Caspian The Chronicles of Narnia Continue May 16
In less than a month, the much-anticipated sequel to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe comes to local theaters... And at HJ, we're more than ready.
For months now, Mark Sommer has been covering all the Narnia News that's fit to print, and he'll be at the film's premiere in New York City next weekend, interviewing cast and crew... and blogging the event more or less as it happens. Be sure to check in regularly at HJ's Narnia News blog this coming Friday for updates about what Mark is seeing and hearing.
Also be sure to check out the work of novelist Regina Doman and Andrew Townsend at HJ's Narnia Features. The two have been covering the entire seven books of the Chronicles; just this week, they've wrapped up analysis of The Magician's Nephew, and next week move on to The Last Battle... just in time for the debut of Prince Caspian on May 16.
Regina Doman | 04/26/08 | 1 Comment We don't know what Polly did in between The
Magician's Nephew and The Last Battle; but we can guess that however
she spent her life, she didn't waste it. My belief is that she
finished that story that she was working on in the Smuggler's Cave-and
published it.
Andrew Townsend | 04/12/08 | Click to Comment Business theory, engineering, astronomy,
and literature are all tools to help us understand the universe we live
in; and some of the theories help us to improve the world we live in,
too. The Magician's Nephew is perhaps just giving us a new way of
looking at reality.

Charlie Wilson's War
Waging A Personal War
Yo Snyder
There was a time when the USSR seemed like an unstoppable force of
nature; and then it hit the mountains of Afghanistan. It was here where
the mighty Red Army met its match in an unlikely foe that was being
armed through the efforts of one man.
Lars and the Real Girl
Real Girls, Real World
Jacob Sahms
The
movie works because of Gosling's talent, but the realism of Lars'
extended "family" provides the movie with its life. How far would you
go to include someone else who seemed left out? That question gets torn
up and thrown away by Jesus.
The Cutting Edge 3: Chasing the Dream
Inspire, Skate, Dream
Jacob Sahms
This is one of those movies that critics hate, but preadolescents with
unfulfilled dreams will love, and so will many of their parents. The
movie is cheesy, predictable, and absolutely dull... But like Zack and
Alex, knows it's audience and succeeds. |
