The Soloist

Tom Hollander plays Graham Claydon in The Soloist.  Hollander says, "Graham is a cellist who works with (homeless) Nathaniel and encourages him to give a recital that goes wrong. He's one of the people who tries to make Nathaniel better without any success. He's also a very committed Christian, so he hopes that, through him, God can save Nathaniel and bring transformation into his life."

So as it turns out, Claydon is the one changed. The film is very clear on this point. Our best intentions to help others often turn out to be our most transforming moments. When you are there for others, you are transformed! It's a God Thing. It is how life is.

Interview with Ted Dekker
Andrew McDiarmid

Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti transform their chilling novel into this unrelenting, mind-twisting motion picture. The question is: are you ready for it? "Rescue comes," says Dekker, "but we often are so deep in that we can't grasp it."
