Smart People
Falling Off the Curve
Elisabeth Leitch
If smarts become our only measure of value, not only do we separate
ourselves from any and every person we don't consider to be up to
academic par, we also tell ourselves and everyone we meet that without
our smarts we have no value. And that is a problem.
Street Kings
What's Your Crown Made Of?
Elisabeth Leitch
Although sin is everywhere, its existence is not one of harmony. To
tolerate it is to allow evil to grow. To hide it or ignore it is to
give it more and more power over our lives every single day. But
thankfully, God has offered us freedom from its power.
Chaos Theory
To Talk or To Walk?
Elisabeth Leitch
When it comes to love, the only thing that can actually destroy it is
us. It is our choice to give it and our choice to take it away. And if
we simply recognize its ability to transcend whatever may challenge it,
it will last forever.
Shine A Light
Hang it Up, Or Move On?
Matt McEver
Seeing the film reminded me of how I've always had a duplicitous
relationship with the Stones. I love their 1970s albums. But when I saw
the 2006 Super Bowl Halftime set, I was mortified and ready to join
those begging for the Stones to retire.
21
What Do You Need?
Jacob Sahms
Serving both as the name-equivalent of Blackjack and the age of our young antihero, 21 is
really a story of coming of age, and gaining "real life experience." I
still wasn't totally "sold" on the movie until "You Can't Always Get
What You Want" boomed out.

04/13/08 | 2 Comments The film's producers are now claiming that the film will be opening
on over 1000 screens. One thing they've certainly got to know: how many
prints of the film have been struck. I just hope they manage to get
those prints to the right theaters.
04/12/08 | 6 Comments XVIVO demands that Premise Media "remove the infringing segment from
all copies of the 'Expelled' film prior to its scheduled commercial
release." Meanwhile, the bad reviews continue to trickle in, and Motive
still hasn't delivered on promised transcripts.
Shermer and Scientific American Comment
04/10/08 | 5 Comments The collection of articles is the most serious-minded resource I've
seen countering the claims made in the movie. If you see the movie, you
pretty much should read these articles, too. They also do a pretty
decent job of evaluating the film as entertainment.
04/09/08 | 7 Comments Wow. How much commentary does one need? We knew it would happen
eventually, and it did... Limbaugh weighs in on Expelled and misquotes
"Hawkins." Plus, the Atheist Ethicist launches the "Truth Ticket"
campaign to offset Expelled's boxoffice.

Resurrecting the Champ
What's in Your Shopping Cart?
Jacob Sahms
At
the end of the day, who will you be? Will you sacrifice everything for
glory, your family, friends, and faith to rise above the crowd? Or will
you pursue truth so dearly, and realize that you've risen above the
crowd through that pursuit? |
