Leatherheads Fun With Rules
Yo Snyder
George
Clooney and John Krasinski have some fun on and off the field in a
throwback comedy from a by-gone era. If you loved the classic comedies
of Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart, this is a movie you don't want to miss.
Nim's Island
More than Just Pretend
Elisabeth Leitch
Thankfully, the stories that remind us that our lives are worth living
are ones that have proved themselves to be true. And in the same way
that Nim finds new and exciting life in their promises, so too may we
look forward to a life lived in the hands of God.
The Ruins
Surviving the Serpent
Elisabeth Leitch
In many ways, the setup of The Ruins
is the image of Satan's serpent multiplied by a thousand, his apple
updated to match more current needs and desires, and the destructive
and infectious nature of sin gruesomely played out in full color.
Body of War
The Cost of the War in Iraq
Darrel Manson
Tomas Young called the recruiter on September 13 when he saw President
Bush at Ground Zero in New York. In time, he was sent to Iraq where,
after being there only five days, he sustained a crippling injury. The
film chronicles the next five years.

Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed This Week at SteinWatch
On April 18, Ben Stein's new documentary Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed arrives
in theaters across the country. SteinWatch brings
you daily news about the film and its promotion.
Host Greg Wright, HJ's Managing Editor, has seen the film and also spoken with virulent ID critic P.Z. Myers.
Visit the page, bookmark it, and visit often. Here are this week's top news items and editorials. Click through to read more:
04/06/08 | Comment Here I really recommend a good read through all of Errol Morris' column
and the attached comments. You might learn a thing or two about the
state of documentary filmmaking; and you might realize that Expelled is
not nearly as manipulative as it might be.
04/05/08 | Comment Here It's too bad that the Concerned Women of America choose to go whole
hog on the partisan approach. Good thing J. Matt Barber drew our
attention to journalistic objectivity. Whew! All of that, really, is
just frothy, biased hyperbole, though.
04/04/08 | 1 Comment If you can't get the entertainment reporters to cover the film,
maybe you can rein in the political correspondents by changing the
venue of discussion. So here's a roundup of news about Expelled as
politics. The lead: Huckabee endorses Expelled... on camera, no less!
04/03/08 | Comment Here Using loaded terms breaks down communication. But a really good
solution when conversing about the controversy is to seek clarification
about the meaning of terms used, and not assume that everyone who uses
terms you don't like (on either side) is a propagandist.
04/02/08 | 3 Comments "From my perspective," says Myers, "I don't care how much money they
make. They can get as filthy rich as they want. I don't care. What I
want is for people to go to that movie and see how bad it is; I want
them to come in prepared to be critically-minded."
03/31/08 | Comment Here Blue Collar Scientist reports that his TIVO system has alerted him
to a half-hour program coming up this weekend. "'Expelled: No
Intelligence Allowed' will air on April 6 at 11:30 PM Alaska Daylight
Time on FAMNET... The program appears on my schedule as an infomercial."

Alvin and the Chipmunks
Your Best Interests at Heart
CoachZ
The
tension between Dave and Ian made it interesting to me. Bottom line we
have to ask ourselves: who has our best interests at heart, God (Dave)
or Satan (Ian)? I hope you come up with the same conclusion as these
animated chipmunks!
Michael Clayton
Make Believe It's Not Madness
Melinda Ledman
How
do you convince a rational-minded person of a truth when the messenger
is tainted? It's an interesting question. Maybe that points us today
more in the direction of iving out our faith in kindness, than debating
with resolute skeptics.
