This is not a serious film. And, so what? It's just pure fun.
Woody
Allen summed up not having fun this way: "Most of the time I don't
have much fun. The rest of the time I don't have any fun at all."
Such
a life would be depressing. I like to think of not having fun as being
possessed by the anti-fun demon. It needs to be cast out. Amen.
The fun
nature of the Creator can be seen in the duckbilled platypus, dolphins,
and lady bugs (or in the strange creatures in this film).
Life should
be enjoyed. Laughing is good medicine. All this to say that here is a
film that is simply a lot of fun and well worth the ticket price.

Why Us?

If there is a Devil, there must also be a God. If there are spirits

The Smurfs
Season One: True Blue Friends
Melinda Ledman
While
the connection between Papa Smurf and God is a no-brainer with kids,
one thing about him was somewhat alarming. When Papa Smurf gave an
edict, the Smurfs would chant in unison, "Yes, Papa Smurf." Little
zombies!

Knowing (Screenwriter Ryne Pearson)
Knowing the Power of Fatherhood
David Bruce, Webmaster
It's all about relationship. Or, at least that's what screenwriter Ryne Pearson
says.
Knowing is about a powerful relationship between a father and his son. A
relationship so connected and grounded in love that it would outlast
the... well, even end of the world as we know it.
I had the privilege of talking with the screenwriter of Knowing...
Reclaiming the Blade (Director Daniel McNicoll)
Interview with a New Director
Mark Sommer
"Swords are in literature from Shakespeare to Voltaire to the Bible," says McNicoll. "Even the apostles carried swords. It wasn't always safe traveling
about. ... Swords were for harvesting wheat or hacking up your
neighbor, depending on what your mood was."
Look for Mark's review of the film this week at HJ...

Last week, Barack Obama made entertainment history by being the first sitting United States President to appear on The Tonight Show. It was also a political first, but that doesn't interest us...
In
honor of the event, though, Hollywood Jesus takes a look at ten great
entertainment firsts from the last decade or so. With a spiritual twist. |
