Hollywood Jesus in the News, Under Fire
A few years ago, Dick Staub published a book entitled Too Pagan, Too Christian in which he documented the difficulties of ministering through pop culture.
Hollywood Jesus, of course, has been embroiled in that controversy from its inception. Its very name, Hollywood Jesus, combines semantic units that can cause the very skin of opposing parties to crawl.
Over the weekend, this caught-in-the-middle effect became quite pronounced (as it does every few years) as Hollywood Jesus was simultaneously criticized by the Wall Street Journal for being too conservative and by Big Hollywood for being too liberal.
