It is a great premise, that I have used often. A few weeks ago, I realized I had become addicted tocaffeineand espresso specifically. It became apparent when I couldn't get an espresso for a few days in a row and I started to become irritable and had massive headaches. I honestly don't know how that happened, because I was so proud of not being a habitual coffee drinker a few years ago.

I needed to stop, so I said no not only to espresso, but coffee and any drink that contained caffeine. No tea, no Coke, no energy drinks, nothing. I did this for a few weeks and when I felt like I had control over it, rather than the other way around I brought it back in. Now I enjoy it once in a while, but I don't need it to make it through the day.

It works, but only for some things... and I believe only because there is a power working in me that is greater than human will power (which actually isn't powerful at all). I think the premise that doing the complete opposite can help with habits and sometimes it only helps for a while. To actually be healed and freed from addictions and from sin takes far more than a premise or a superstition or even religion. It takes Jesus; what he did on the Cross frees us from our sins. The power that resurrected him (brought him back from the dead), must be at work in your life to truly be free of the things that we hate about ourselves.

So try it; try the Yes Man technique and when you have finally realize that nothing you can do will ever save you from your sins or yourself, then say YES to Jesus. He stands at the door and knocks. If you open the door of your heart he will come in and reside and life will never ever be the same! I promise..
