Choose Your Side
Yo

I just want to urge you to be very careful in making that choice, and to certainly not let the choice be made for you by default through inaction. Just as in 1944, it is so important today for you to choose the right side, because the cost of being on the wrong side is far too much to bear. However, you have an advantage that the soldiers caught up in the middle of Operation Valkyrie didn't have; you can know which side will win. It's very explicitly revealed in the Bible, so there is no doubt as to which side will win and which side you should be on. More than that, the Bible also very explicitly explains what will happen if you end up on the wrong side. Hell was designed to punish Satan for his rebellion, and he knows it. He also knows he's going to lose, so he's going to take as many down with him as possible out of sheer malevolent hatred. I plead with you not to let that happen to you. Choose a side. Make the choice yourself, and don't let the choice be made for you by doing nothing.

After watching Valkyrie I wanted to go back and brush up on my history. I remembered reading about this event in my history classes at college, but haven't studied it since. In that sense, I guess you could say that Valkyrie is a very successful movie. However, when it comes to making me feel engaged and emotional invested, or in feeling the tension and the intensity of what people must have felt at the time, or even something so simple as being entertained, I can't say that Valkyrie is as much of a success. It has some nice moments, but they are too few and far between. Watching this movie made me feel like I do after reading a well-written history text; I find it interesting and curious, but don't feel anything personally about it.

I can't explain why a film about an attempt to kill Hitler would come out on Christmas day, so even if it was really good I don't know if I would recommend it. Fortunately, I don't have that problem because Valkyrie isn't really good, but it's also not really bad. Truth be told, you'd probably be better off just reading about this or catching a real documentary about these events, that would be just as entertaining and probably cost a lot less than going to the movies
