So I was reading IGN's article about the top ten best Star Trek moments from the films, and that got me all nostalgic; so I went home and watched Star Trek VI. As that film was ending, still full of nostalgia, I started thinking about my own favorite moments from the films... and so to get ready for the release of the new Star Trek, I thought I'd steal IGN's idea and share my top five favorite moments from the Star Trek films.

5. The Enterprise tour: Star Trek The Motion Picture.

While I'm sure we can all agree that the first Star Trek film wasn't the greatest, it did have one of my favorite moments. As Admiral Kirk flies on a on shuttle pod to board the ship, Scotty takes him the long way around to docking, and in doing so, gives Kirk and us an extended look at the newly redesigned Enterprise. I remember watching that scene with my dad and him saying "Is the whole movie going to be just about looking at the ship?" Sure, it was a long sequence, but for fans, it was a beautiful one. To see the new Enterprise in all of her glory, all of the lights and the new curves, was a thrilling, gorgeous moment for anyone in love with that lady called Enterprise. When Kirk tells Scotty "Thank you for the flyby," he echoes the sentiment of us all.

4. Picard draws the line - Star Trek First Contact.
