Ellaville, GA, September 4, 2012 - Being a woman of faith, Jackie Carpenter thought her belief would easily overcome any obstacles life put in her way. She was wrong. It was when she needed her faith more than any other time in her life that she realized it did not even begin to measure up. Scheduled for release in the fall, A Cry for Justice by Triple Horse Studios is a poignant, yet riveting, award-winning movie that tells the true story of this loving mother's nightmarish ordeal after her son is arrested for an accidental shooting and charged with felony murder.

Jackie Carpenter's life changed in an instant when her phone rang on that unforgettable day in 2008. She never thought for a minute it could be something bad -- why would she? Up to that point, Jackie's life had been near-perfect. Nothing could have prepared her for what her daughter-in-law's frantic voice brought forth. Her son had accidentally shot and killed a would-be thief while protecting his property and the police had arrested him. Jackie had no clue of the difficult journey ahead; not just in proving her son's innocence but to restore her wavering faith.

She would struggle with that inner voice that asked: What happens when a person of faith discovers she lacks the faith to overcome tragedy? There were times during the trial that Jackie doubted herself but she never doubted God. A Cry for Justice vividly portrays what this courageous, loving mother endured throughout this ordeal, and can act as a guide for believers and non-believers alike to learn how to overcome doubt and depression and begin the journey to renewed and strengthened faith, hope and victory. One thing is for sure; it is a movie that will touch the hearts of people everywhere and offer encouragement to anyone facing a personal tragedy.

A Cry for Justice is based on Jackie's two books that tell her story. The Bridge: Between Cell Block A and a Miracle is Psalm 91 came first and told the story of how Jackie brought her family through the initial crisis. Georgia Justice: A Journey to Faith (Xulon Publishing) followed and relates the author's journey that began with her belief she had enough faith to lean on God during a crisis until the stunning revelation that her faith did not even begin to measure up to where it needed to be when tragedy struck.
