Why are scientists and teachers in America getting bullied, losing their jobs, and being denied tenure because they ask questions of Darwinism? Why is Big Science so afraid of a designer? Actor and comedian Ben Stein takes it upon himself to ask these questions. He journeys to the far reaches and innermost sanctums of science on a quest to have his questions answered. He discovers that the right to question the establishment is in jeopardy. And he's not happy about it! With his trademark brand of understated humor, Stein exposes an important problem in the United States through a series of pertinent interviews with scientists and thinkers on both sides.

The documentary, released in theaters in April 2008, is the second-largest grossing documentary of 2008 and the twelfth-largest of all time. It is well-produced and well-executed. It asks tough questions of the Darwinists, generating much controversy and adding fuel to the already pertinent debate over science and religion in America.

The DVD release includes a featurette showing the latest advances in using intelligent design for medical research. Also included are a special message from Ben Stein and additional music tracks by Andy Hunter.

In many ways, our culture is at a crossroads. Secular humanism, which has Darwinism as one of its cornerstones, is more prevalent than ever. Atheists are riding on a wave of popularity right now as they take advantage of the public's thirst for purpose and understanding.
