The touching storyline in Shrek the Third  is about a person next in line for the kingship, yet he has no desire to have the job. He’d rather live in comfortable surroundings with his friends. Friendships are so important for a good life. Friendships are more important than position or power. These never lead to true satisfaction… rather they only disappoint and leave one empty.
