A lady that I work with, and her husband, decided to Fost-adopt some kids. They already have three of their own. They are my heroes, especially after watching all that they go through to try and assimilate these children into their home. This movie is a great representation of the, for lack of a better word, struggle to adopt a child. Yes, it is struggle, but it is a worthy one. She would tell you that and I believe this movie represents that as well.

The little boy does a great job, because (as the extra features show) he is very different than the character he plays. Of course, the brother and sister team of John and Joan Cusack are wonderful. (I'm a big fan; can you tell?) The one thing I wish for was a little more closure in the David (John Cusack) and Harlee (Amanda Peet) love story. Otherwise, a wonderful film that may contribute to people opening their hearts to the children that need us... the many that are waiting to be adopted.
