Day 6 – Tuesday May 9, 2000

Hi Everyone:
I’m afraid that if I tell you this no one will read the rest of this post but … there are pictures from the set at Error! Bookmark not defined. Wow. Wow. Wow, what a day it was here on Day 6.

First I awoke at 4:30 this morning and it was as bright as day – because of the constant and frequent lightening. We had some real weather up here today and I thought we would lose the whole day because you can’t ask crew members to carry around all the metal stands and poles that are needed for lighting in a lightening storm.

As I write this tonight, there is a tornado warning here. But, in the middle of that – a glorious day of filming. Today we shot a huge scene of Chloe’s experience at the rapture. It was so real that we scared the daylights out of passersby. I don’t want to tell you too much, in fact I’m not going to telling you anything but that it was awesome. As many of you know Cloud Ten is the first Christian film studio and we’ve had to grow a little bit at a time.

But today Paul and I felt like Hollywood moguls. It is so great to see the Lord blessing and each movie getting bigger than the last. I always have remembered the scripture to not despise the day of small beginnings. Today I was thrilled to see where we’ve come in just a few short years. In fact, I believe that is was for this moment that we were called into the kingdom of God. God is sooooo good and so God.

Kirk and Chelsea arrived back yesterday and I spent some wonderful time with Kirk today. We dreamed and planned and prayed. His contributions as an actor and a Christian are monumental. This man has the pulse of Buck in a way that I could never have dreamed. I also saw the dailies today of Brad Johnson’s performance as Rayford from Friday. Wow again. We filmed the scene where he finds Irene and Raymie gone. In Dailies there is no music, no editing, the color is still off. But, of ten people watching, there was not a dry eye. This guy is one awesome actor! You are not going believe the power of this scene. I believe many will get saved just watching this single scene with hardly a word spoken. It is that powerful.

I also want to ask you to pray for me tonight if you would. We’ve been going at this 20 hours a day for about a month and it wears you down. Now I’ve picked up a nasty cold that has me just about knocked out. But, what is the victory without the battle? Enjoy the pictures and I’ll tough base with you tomorrow, by the grace of God.
