THE MATADOR isn’t a great film. Indeed, it’s not making much of a splash at the box office. And, its subject matter is prohibitive to attracting a sizeable crowd. But for fans of the assassin genre, and fans of the buddy comedy, it serves a place. Again:

--We need each other to give each other permission to succeed and have courage.

--We need to support each other, and help each other out from time to time. And most importantly,

--We need to respect the lives of each other, even if that person is our competitor.
