VERY POWERFUL SCENES

As part of the temptation of Christ, Satan takes Jesus to Kosovo where Jesus walks among the many who were starving to death. Satan tells Jesus that this is the reason why he should turn stone into bread!

This is done to bring a contemporary feel to the film.

It is also intended to mean that the struggle between good and evil still goes on today.

THE TEMPTATION OF JESUS
	The temptation to turn stones into bread becomes meaningful as Satan explains to Jesus the starving millions in the world. "You can prevent this," Satan says.
	The 40 day fast takes its toll on Jesus' face.
	Satan also appears as a fashion model dressed in red.
	Satan appears as a modern man in a black suit.

	Satan is three.
	Satan shows Jesus the kingdoms of the world and...
	the universe itself. The temptations are great but Jesus holds fast to his ordained mission here on earth.
THE MARRIAGE THAT COULD NEVER BE
	Scholars have long wondered about romantic possibilities between Mary of Bethany and Jesus. This film portrays it.
	Jesus loves her very much but must tell her it can not be. Lots of tears.
	Mary is crushed, but in some sense understands.
	Jesus is devastated. The break up was hard to do. A very provocative, and innovative, scene. The end of this scene was edited out of the CBS version. Click to see it in RealVideo
HELPING THE PROSTITUTE --AMAZING GRACE
	She is brought to Jesus as a test to see if he would obey the law and stone her.
	Instead, Jesus turns the tables on her accusers and administers a good dose of grace.
LOVING YOUR ENEMY --FORGIVING AND RECONCILING LOVE
	Barabbas and his gang of thugs terrorize some Roman soldier. Killing several.
	Jesus pleads with him to end the killing.
	The Roman soldiers neck is cut open. Jesus falls on the body, The Romans soldiers blood now stains Jesus' garment. I thought this was highly symbolic.
	There is violence both ways. Jesus preaches the message of forgiving and reconciling love.
JOHN THE BAPTIST
	Jesus loves his family and friends. Here he embraces John the Baptist. Some may object to John telling Jesus to repent, but why would he have done any differently just for Jesus.
	At the baptism a ray of light enters Jesus' heart and upon hearing the voice of God, John declares Jesus as the spotless lamb of God. God's voice was edited out of the CBS version. Click to see original in RealVideo.
