Release: 5/13/08

My wife and I are huge fans of the Indiana Jones trilogy. She more than I, but only by a little. Last week she called me at work, somewhat breathless and said, “The Indiana Jones Trilogy came to our door!” As the DVD Coordinator for Hollywood Jesus, this type of thing happens often… but not often do we get a preview copy of something this big. She has always wanted the trilogy and here it came to our door! Suffice it to say we were excited and after watching the Special Features we weren’t disappointed one bit.

All three discs have the theatrical version of the movies intact and unaltered, which is great. Some things ought to be left well enough alone. The special treasures in this “Adventure Collection” are the special features. Each one ends with a bit of a teaser for the upcoming fourth installment of the series. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for May 22nd to come around!

Special Features
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark

  • New Introduction by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas – Here the two movie giants describe how the trilogy was born and some of their motivations towards the now classic movies.
  • The Indy Trilogy: A Crystal Clear Appreciation
  • The Mystery of the Melting Face
  • Snakes Alive! The Well of Souls Storyboards
  • Photo Galeries
  • Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures Game Demo

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

  • New Introduction by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas – Spielberg is very candid that he did not want this movie to be as dark as it was and that he was following Lucas’ wishes. They both speak out of both sides of their mouths saying it was a horrible movie, but that they still liked it and audiences hated it but liked it. It’s kinda comical.
  • Creepy Crawlies – Featurette starring all the animals from the trilogies; snakes, bugs, and rats. They hint that the fourth installment will have something different and just as scary.
  • Discover Adventure on Location with Indy – This featurette takes you to all the locations that they shot at for the three films.
  • Hold on to your Hat! The Mine Chase Storyboard
  • Photo Galleries
  • Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures Game Demo

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

  • New Introduction by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas – They chronicle the origins of casting Sean Connery in this film, basically because Indiana Jones was based on James Bond, so naturally Bond should be his dad.
  • Indy’s Women Reminisce – Featurette with all three women from the original Jones trilogy. They talk about their roles and how much they enjoyed them
  • Indy’s Friends and Enemies – Spielberg and Lucas discuss Indy’s enemies (champagne and evil sidekicks) as well as his sidekicks from each of the films
  • The Birth of an Action Hero! The Last Crusade Opening Scenes Storyboard
  • Photo Gallery
  • Lego Indiana Jones the Original Adventure Game Demo

Patrick was born in Hollywood...literally! Hollywood Community Hospital in 1970. I met Jesus and my wife, Linda, in 1989. Two relationships that I treasure to this day. We have two sons, Joshua and Jason, and a little dog named Sophie. We love Jesus together, enjoy living on the Central Coast of California and hanging with our boys and dog at the beach or a park. As far as Hollywood Jesus it's a privilege to write with real writers...since I'm not. I hope you like my reviews, which are more commentary on everything that MovesMe. I always assume you've seen the movie or TV show that I'm commenting on...so be fair warned; I'm a spoiler.
