COURAGE
Joshua
1:9
" I command you?be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid
or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you
go."
1
Chron. 28:20
Then David continued, "Be strong and courageous, and do the work.
Don't be afraid or discouraged by the size of the task, for the
Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake
you...
Psalm 31:24
So be strong and take courage, all you who put your hope in the
Lord!

LOVE
Would
not the carrying out of one single commandment of Christ, ?Love
one another,? change the whole aspect of the world and sweep away
prisons and workhouses, and envying and strife, and all the strongholds
of the devil? Two thousand years have nearly passed, and people
have not yet understood that one single command of Christ, ?Love
one another!?
-- MAX MULLER (1823?1900)
While
faith makes all things possible, it is love that makes all things
easy.
ON
REDEMPTION
The
purpose of Christ?s redeeming work was to make it possible for
bad men to become good?deeply, radically, and finally.
-- A. W. TOZER (1897?1963)
The
cross of Jesus Christ and his baptism express the same thing.
Our Lord was not a martyr; he was not merely a good man; he was
God Incarnate. He came down to the lowest reach of creation in
order to bring back the whole human race to God, and in order
to do this he must take upon him, as representative man, the whole
massed sin of the race.
-- OSWALD CHAMBERS (1874?1917)
If
I had the wisdom of Solomon, the patience of John, the meekness
of Moses, the strength of Samson, the obedience of Abraham, the
compassion of Joseph, the tears of Jeremiah, the poetic skill
of David, the prophetic voice of Elijah, the courage of Daniel,
the greatness of John the Baptist, the endurance and love of Paul,
I would still need redemption through Christ?s blood, the forgiveness
of sin.
