There is more going on in life than meets the eye. It is expressed in our plays, books, and religions. Thoughts of the unseen are triggered by war, death, scientific wonder and even by little girls. |
FAIRY TALE, A TRUE STORY (1997) By David Bruce Web Master HollywoodJesus.com ........................ We were born to believe! Elsie Wright : Florence Hoath, Frances Griffiths : Elizabeth Earl, Arthur Wright : Paul McGann, Polly Wright : Phoebe Nicholls, Arthur Conan Doyle : Peter O'Toole, Harry Houdini: Harvey Keitel. Directed by Charles Sturridge. |
Written by Ernie Contreras. Based on a story by Albert Ash, Tom McLoughlin and Ernie Contreras. Running time: 99 minutes. Rated PG (for mild language). In 1917, two English girls photographed fairies. Their photos were published in a national magazine by ardent spiritualist Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of Sherlock Holmes. He vouched for their authenticity. The "Cottingley fairies'' created an international sensation. Many years later, when they were old ladies, they confessed that the photos were a hoax. The film blurs the line between fact and fantasy. We know the photos of fairies by these two little girls are a hoax and yet the film presents the fairies as real. The film is true to life. Most people have some creative and fanciful way of thinking about the profound unseen realities of the spiritual dimensions of life. This is why Fairy Tales have such an enduring strength. This is an adult film that works with kids, too. OFFICIAL SITE TM & Copyright © 1997 by Paramount Pictures. All Rights Reserved. BULLETIN BOARD
