I took my sixteen-year-old daughter, Kat, I wish I could have taken the whole family. But it is rated 'R'. Never the less, Kat really enjoyed the experience. We have talked about this film many times since. WARNING: SPOILER FOLLOWS |
| BULETIN BOARD: PAINTED IN BAD LIGHT I am not a film critic or one who usually looks for symbolism of this kind in films. But I noticed that the catholic church was painted in a particularly bad light in this film. It seemed to suggest that true belief was the tolerance of others beliefs, and not the insistence on your own. Elizabeth succeeded because she saw that although the faiths shared were different, that they had shared beliefs. They could unite together, in what they had in common. Ruth p.s. It seems so ironic that faith, an advocate for peace, has caused so many wars and deaths. include("inserts/comment_dark_bkgd.htm"); ?>
