‘Marvel Universe Live: Age of Heroes’ assembles the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man and Doctor Strange in arenas nationwide

The Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man and Doctor Strange are joining forces to stop the evil schemes of Asgardian trickster Loki.

The latest plot in a new Marvel Cinematic Universe movie? No, but it’s the premise for a new stunt family-friendly show that’s being showcased in arenas nationwide.

“Marvel Universe Live: Age of Heroes” is the latest production of the explosive stunt show of Marvel Universe Live, which brings Spider-Man together with Doctor Strange and Star-Lord from the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Black Cat fights Black Widow, while Iron Fist battles alongside Iron Man. Overall, more than 25 characters from the Marvel universe are part of the action, which will make its stop this weekend at the Amway Center in Orlando.

Launched in 2014, Marvel Universe Live includes 45 acting acrobats going through more than 100 costume, and jumping through cutting-edge explosions and special effects.

Produced by Feld Entertainment, “Age of Heroes” features the first appearance of characters from Guardians of the Galaxy, who come together with the Avengers and Doctor Strange to retrieve the Wand of Watoomb from Loki and a gallery of rogues.

The ancient artifact holds immeasurable mystical power and would allow Loki to achieve his eternal quest to crown himself ruler of Asgard and Earth. The Avengers–earth’s mightiest heroes–includes Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Panther, Hulk and Black Widow. Besides Star-Lord, the Guardians of the Galaxy features Gamora, Rocket, Groot and Drax.

The arena stunt show, which runs approximately two hours and is appropriate for young children, also involves trap doors, moving platforms and half a dozen motorcycles. The costumes are based on the 2015 movie Avengers: Age of Ultron, but the story takes is derived from the animated TV series Avengers Assemble.

Tickets for “Marvel Universe Live: Age of Heroes” in Orlando range from $22-$122. Besides Orlando, upcoming shows include Philadelphia, Baltimore, Houston and Dallas.
