I was just flipping
through the TV channels and saw you on TBN talking about the Lord,
and I was so surprised...I thought "Dyan Cannon is a Christian..WOW!"
I have watched you for years, and was glued to Ally McBeal when
you were guest staring....I have always admired your work, and to
see you praising God gave me goose bumps. So I looked you up on
line to see what was up with your faith and found this web page.
I was also amazed to find that you had a marijuana addiction that
led you to Christ...because I was led to him the exact same way.
I felt lost, like I couldn't control it anymore, rather it was controlling
me. It was bringing me down, and I was very unhappy. I opened my
heart up to God, and after battling this problem for 6 years I was
relieved of it literally overnight. I too "hid my stash" when I
traveled, and took some pretty significant risks to be able to support
my habit. I was convinced that I had to be stoned first before I
could enjoy anything in life. Since then I have felt the presence
of God and his love in my life and have finally found happiness
and contentment for the first time ever. Jesus is the best "high"
I've ever known. Thank you for your inspiring story, I'm sure there
are many others who can relate to it as I have.

Hi David After
reading your statement on how Dyan uses laughter to cover up the
nervousness - "As you watch the video clips (at Hollywood Jesus)
notice how Dyan seems to use laughter to mask her nervousness, and
yet at the same time project a strong sense of confidence" - and
then watching the video clips, I realized I was watching "The Joy
of the Lord is our strength" (Neh 8:10) in action! Larry was asking
some tough questions, and where we've seen some religious leaders
break into a sweat, Dyan broke into laughter, received strength
from Christ, and answered with eloquence and fluency. Praise God
for what He's doing in Hollywood! (Holy-wood?)

FALSE
MOVEMENT
Subject: Dyan_Cannon
Date: Mon, 7 May 2001
From: R Chan
Dyan Cannon
is sucked up in a false movement that is packaged to look like Christianity,
but comes straight from the kingdom of the cults. She is focused
on esoteric experience and not focused on biblical truths of true
Christianity. Just as she said in her interview with Larry King,
she has NO biblical training, formal or informal. This I believe,
because of her answer on "born again." She is using socio-psycological
manipulation, hypnotism, and mesmerism tricks. sleight of hand and
sleight of mind. In other words people are being deceived. As P.T
Barnum once said "There's a sucker born every minute." She has shown
absolutely no proof of a true healing, and if the ones that are
supposedly healed, it is from psychosomatic illness. I say to all
Christians that read this, it's not about an experience. Test everything
in the light of scripture. Stand for the truth. (2Timothy 4:2-3,
Jude 1:3)
Response:
Jude 1:3 reads, "Dear friends, I've dropped everything to write
you about this life of salvation that we have in common. I have
to write insisting-begging!-that you fight with everything you have
in you for this faith entrusted to us as a gift to guard and cherish."
I think this is exactly what Cannon has done. She does cherish her
faith and has taken a stand. Are you always so mean to others as
you are in this letter? Do you like hitting people over the head
with your Bible? Personally I find Cannon refreshing. Certain other
Hollywood stars asked her not to mention their names during the
interview. They fear self righteous people like you. As soon as
a person of note says "I am a Christian", the holier-than-thou
Christians line up like vultures to pick them apart.
In
terms of Cannon not having all of her theology together, so what.
Neither do you. Even Paul admitted to seeing through a glass darkly
and wrote "..until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge
of God's Son that we will be mature and full grown in the Lord,
measuring up to the full stature of Christ." -Ephes. 4:13.
None of us have arrived. Let's help each other in loving ways..
Here
is a thought: "My beloved friends, let us continue to love
each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born
of God and experiences a relationship with God." -1 John 4:7

I have always
thought you were just adorable! Not just pretty, so much more. Deeper.
Your adorable laugh that comes from so deep within you always told
me that you are your own person. I admired that in you. Now I find
you have come to know our precious Lord which makes us sisters in
Christ. Just wanted to take the time to encourage you in your outreach.
So much of the Hollywood world needs to know what we know and to
feel His love. Not only them but you are such a role model for so
many women. I pray God will continue to bless you and l will continue
to lift you up in my prayers!
YOU GO, GIRL!
You are truly an inspiration! Thanks for using your gifts to better
our world to reach out into a world so desperately in need of our
most loving God and the knowledge of Him.

Response:
We evolve Ruth. Have you been Lilly white all your life? Where do
you get off with a remark like that? You come off so self righteous,
so pure, so perfect, so condemning. Your love for Jesus (so-called)
is overshadowed by Jesus' love for sinners. I am glad to share a
not so perfect life with the likes of Dyan Cannon. Romans 3:23 includes
you Ruth. May God give you a good dose of reality. Did you ever
think you might go to hell for such self righteousness? You need
to remember by in whose righteousness we have been made righteous.
And it sure the hell ain't yours or mine.

Davis from Toledo, Ohio and a friend frowarded your piece on Dyan
Cannon's God Party. A small group of spiritually-minded people started
our own "Saturday Night Fever Prayer Party" every other Saturday
night in my home. We have been doing this for the past few months
and those who attend find it very beneficial. We do guided meditations
and pray for individual and group intentions of those present or
those of others who send their intentions but could not be there.
I think what Dyan is doing is reaching out to so many people who
are looking for happiness in their life through love. She is sharing
a wonderful gift with others through her love of God. What a wonderful
example for the rest of us, especially from Hollywood which many
perceive to be the "sin capital of the world". Thank you Dyan for
your inspiration and courage to show up in the world as the loving
soul that you are. We are all the better for it.

ENOUGH
NIT PICKING
Subject: Dyan Cannon -- Jewish Christian
Date: Tue, 01 May 2001
From: JRC
David,
I just read the article about Dyan Cannon's interview with Larry
King and her "God Parties". You know, we cannot discern what is
in a person's heart, only God can do that. We can only judge people
by their fruits. I doubt that any of the nay sayers can say they
gather a standing room only crowd to praise the Lord. That seems
to be pretty good fruit. Enough nit-picking about which words we
choose to communicate what Jesus has done in our life. He promised
that He came that we might have life more abundantly. He promised
that if we abide in Him and His words abide in us, we can ask whatever
we wish and it shall be done for us. He said we have not because
we ask not, or we ask with wrong motives. Too many (so-called) Christians
are too quick to judge a person's motives because that person has
something they don't have. We forget that the record of scripture
shows that God relates to each of His children in a unique way.
To make these judgments only diverts attention away from Christ
and toward differences and divisions -- a temporary victory for
the adversary. Paul was able to say that, even though some go about
their ministry in a different, and even questionable way, "whether
in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed; and in this I rejoice."
Praise God for what he is doing through Dyan Cannon!
JRC
PS. Not that
it matters that much to me, but some teach that Jesus was not Jewish,
but Galilean (Matthew 26:69, Mark 14:70, Luke 22:59). It is thought
that Jew referred to those who lived in Judea -- not of the tribe
of Judah. Jesus was from Galilee, so therefore He was not Jew, but
a Galilean.
Response:
I agree with you in terms of Dyan Cannon. I agree that too many
Christians are highly judgemental. However, in terms of Jesus, he
was a Jew from Galilee. And he was from the tribe of Judah, of the
house of David (Judah) and is called the Lion of Judah. See Hebrews
7:14, 8:8 and Revelations 5:5. Beyond all this, Jesus was born in
Bethlehem of Judea -Matthew 2:1. Your comment sounds very anti-Jewish.
It caused me great alarm and concern. -David
MAY
JESUS CONTINUE TO BLESS DYAN CANNON
Subject: Newsletter_23
Date: Mon, 30 Apr 2001
From: "Ken Martin"
Praise God that
people are rejoicing and coming to know the Lord of Truth Jesus
Christ. And Praise God for Dyan Cannon for publicly proclaiming
the Truth from "the rooftops" (the back lot at CBS), unashamed and
boldly as the Truth should be proclaimed.
Thru the Truth,
we are set free. Set free from the delusions that abound so profusely
in "this world" of carnel lusts for wealth and power.
May the Spirit
of Truth guide Dyan in reaching out to those unhappy and confused
souls who need rightious council, direction and guidence.
May she use
her grace to bring about a positive change in the lives of those
less fortunate. May she reach out without prejudice, to those who
have slipped into the cracks of society such as those who have been
judged unfairly and put into prisions to live unproductive lives.
Many of those prisioners who are victims of "this world's social
double standards, and hypocracies", would rather be paying for their
crimes in a rehabilition setting. Where they would be paying for
their "keep" and even restitution for their crimes. Even in a confined
setting we must give those poor souls the love that we receive freely
from Almighty God, thru the Grace of Jesus, by the Power of His
Love in the Holy Spirit of Truth...
There is a perfect
setting to establish a model here on the small Island of Kauai in
Hawaii. Yes we have prisions and prisioners here. Most of them victims
of social injustice, where they "sinned" (committed crimes), out
of fustration and confusion. They, as every living soul, needs communal
support from the Community of Christ.
My name is Ken
Martin, 4149 Kilauea Road, Kilauea, Kauai, Hawaii 96754. phone (808)
828-1012; fax (808) 828-2836...email, papaya1@aloha.net....we grow
papaya, banana, and other vegetables...and would love to see this
Island become the "Garden Island" as she is often refered.
May God continue
to bless those who claim salvation thru the perfect example of His
Son Jesus the Christ, with their whole heart, their whole mind,
and their whole souls.
Aloha in Christ
Jesus, Ken Martin
A perfect pattern
has been established for us to model our lives after as best as
we can. In Him, thru Him, and for Him, everything we do is either
an offering to the Truth, a most sincere act of Love, or it falls
short of what potential exists for all living souls, and those yet
unborn. By bearing the responsiblity, we give honor and glory to
God. By shunning the responsibility to witness to the True Power
of Perfect Love in Jesus, we fail ourselves, our friends and families,
and our Lord and God. True love is very simple to understand. Yet
temptations abound in this world of choices and freewill...
May Dyan's ministry
continue to grow in Love. Amen
ENCOURAGED

From: Nick
Hello! I read
and saw the clips of Dyan Cannon's ministry. I must admit that this
is a first for me... a movie star having a strong healing ministry.
I must applaud
her for being daring enough to be interviewed by Larry King. Her
vulnerability, her zeal, and her lightheartedness is wonderful to
behold.
The high point
in the interview was when Larry King asked "Are you born-again?"
She: "What do you mean by that?" Him: "I don't know." By that simple
question (and follow up) she revealed the double-standard of a question
like that. Where she could have been pigeon-holed, she defined her
faith using everyday language. May we all learn from her.
If I have any
reservations, (only because I know so little about her group), it's
that she's doing this independently, without the help of a church
or group of churches. I suppose she's attracting folks who are intimidated
by churches, and that's okay.
But her group
is not a church. She's still a babe in the Lord. She's a gifted
speaker, and now been graced with healing gifts, and she has tremendous
zeal. But no formalized education on Scripture can be dangerous.
She admitted
that she's not a scholar by any means...and we should take it as
our cue that her ministry is not a church. I only hope it becomes
a stepping stone TO a church. Not that the church is the end-all
of everything, but it is an important facet of growth for all believers.

I saw the interview
on Monday nite with Larry King and I loved it. Watching her you
could tell she is serious about this and believes in her faith deeply.
In Hollywood it takes a lot of courage to come forth and do what
Dyan Cannon is doing now. I'm always a little "leary" about Hollywood
people who are "boirn again". But I thought Dyan was the real McCoy.
I hope she continues to do this. It's obvious she apologizes to
no one, she gives all credit to "God". I was glad that Larry King
had her on his show and that he did not try to belittle her or make
fun of her. It was a great show and I hope to see more of that kind
on TV. Thanks for showing us the video's David, they are great.
God Bless.

Hello David~ I watched Dyan Cannon's Larry King interview with great
interest; but, tried as I might, I could not get a handle on her
Christology at all. Della Reese talks alot about Jesus as the "Wayshower"
and all of that but she is definitely not orthodox in her view of
Christ. It came across to me as more of a universalistic belief
system with alot of self-help jargon thrown in. I am not saying
Ms. Cannon is not a Christian (in the orthodox sense) because I
don't know~ Maybe you can enlighten me~it would be much appreciated.
Thank you and I appreciate the website.

ANOTHER
HOAX FOR THE GLORY OF CANNON?
Subject: Newsletter_23

Hi David:
We viewed the clips of Diane Cannon. When asked by Larry King about
being born again, Cannon's reply was she was seeking happiness and
love. Interestingly, having a personal relationship with Our Lord
and Father, Jesus Christ was not mentioned (as every knee shall
bend, every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord). I'ts great
people are seeking God, but we bring up some reservations. Who get's
the glory here? Diane Cannon seeks her own happiness, seeks another
future relationship, appears to be advocating the "abundance theology".
That's not God.
What about the
story of Job. Or God loves those He chastises or count all your
afflictions as blessings. All but one of the apostles was tortured
and killed for preaching about Christ. This is not what Diane Cannon
is proclaiming - "only good comes from God". What about the fruits
of the Holy Spirit - recall long suffering? Joy of the Lord isn't
laughing all the time.
We've been to
many revivals: in the Catholic Church, Calvary Pentacostal Church
( Ruth Ward Heflin), Rodney Howard Brown and others. We have witnessed
and experienced "falling down in the Spirit", "holy laughter", superficial
healings. No doubt something is being experienced as there are many
spirits. Where is the discernment of spirits? That is our concern.
No parties for
me David for I am seeking and always will a deep personal relationship
with the Triune God - Father and Son and Holy Spirit.
My bumper sticker
says in big bold black letters YES LORD. In sickness and in health,
in good times and bad, for richer or poorer I take thee Lord.
I am suffering
from cancer now. I pray to be healed, but if I'm not I will love
and praise Our Lord Jesus Christ until He embraces me.
Tricia

Sorry to hear about your cnacer. May God be with you in a more way
