Winx Club: The Secret of the Lost Kingdom is the 2007 Italian CGI animated film about six "Winx" (fairies) and their to rescue Bloom's birth parents. The film was later dubbed and released here in America on Nickelodeon in 2012. This movie is also based on the Winx Club animated series.

Any Sailor Moon fans in the house? Well, if you've ever had a taste for that show, then you'll see some similarities in this movie. For instance, there's the way that they transformed into Winx, just like the way the girls in Sailor Moon transformed into Sailor Scouts. In all fairness, Iginio Straffi (creater of the Winx Club) wanted to do something like Sailor Moon.

The movie was very pretty. With that said, I feel like there wasn't a lot of character development. To be fair, this is meant to be shown in the context of the series and I've never seen the show.

I can't stand it when people get mad that movies based on TV shows only gear towards their fans. Example: When The Lizzie Mcguire Movie came out, one critic complained that the movie was for the fans. Of course it was! The same goes for this movie. If they aren't being loyal to the fans, then why make a movie at all?

This movie did have a good message about family and doing the right thing when times get rough. It was all very sweet, but I wish that they could have dug a little deeper into her relationship with her Earth parents, because that relationship that she had with them was really nice.

As someone that hasn't seen the show, I do believe that fans will like it because it was a fun movie and really fast paced. It didn't get slow at all. It was just long enough to hold a child's attention. It succeeded in what it set out to do, which was to make a good movie for their fans.
