Ask the Big Question

Third, it is actually artistic and creative. From the opening montage of photos (which told the backstory without even a word), to the unpredictable relationship twists and creative revelation of the nature of grace, to the final film sequence which carries its own beautiful message, Reconciliation breaks the mold of mundane family films. It does not barely get by, rather it excels. I highly recommend owning this film, because right away you will want to make your friends watch it. It is my habit to never watch a film twice, but this is one of a handful of films (ever) that I will actually watch twice... and with friends. Our culture has needed a film to say these important things for a very long time. I hope in the end, you will find the same answer to the big question that I did: the answer is irrelevant. And better yet, it is possible to hate sin and love a sinner. How else could Christ have convinced himself to die for us while we still hated him? He didn't enjoy the cross, he hated sin. But he also said that he came to bind up the brokenhearted. He wanted more than anything to free us from whatever gets in the way of our relationship with God. Ultimately, what matters most to God is so much bigger than a formulaic approach to morality. He really does exist outside of our boxes. Can we step outside and meet him there?
