If you love the Jonas Brothers, you'll love the ninety-plus minutes of Jonas Brother action, humor, and music that are shamelessly delivered in the three-disc extravaganza that arrives at your local store today, two weeks after Lines, Vines and Trying Times hit record stores. Freshly minted on Blu-ray with a "regular" and a 3-D option, the package also includes the 2-D, "regular" version on a standard DVD disc and the digital copy on a third disc. And did I mention that there is a family four-pack of 3-D glasses?

If you haven't heard the Jonas Brothers, then checking out the newest package is something you might consider. Whether it's belting out the hits "A Little Bit Longer" or "Tonight," or mixing it up with Demi Lovato on "This Is Me" or Taylor Swift on "Should've Said No," the brothers have packaged their live experience in a way that you can enjoy at home. Just for the sake of making the DVD more interesting for those who've seen it in theaters, the musical side is also broadened by "Can't Have You," "Lovebug," and "Shelf" to round the total number of songs up to eighteen JB hits.

While it's not their first movie (or even their first 3D flick), the band does throw itself into its roles, from the opening vignette about being awakened early by Big Rob and then stuck in traffic, surrounded by screaming fans. These guys are certainly aimed for a younger (female) demographic, but they are likable, and certainly earnest in the "acting" portions of the film that find them off the stage. Thankfully, as other parents of young girls ask me, I've yet to read anything that would throw distasteful fuel on the fire; even the dating-and-breakup with Taylor Swift (by Kevin) doesn't really rate top tabloid billing.

In truth, the movie is rated G, and basically plays out like a set of music videos, with humorous bits like the opening vignette, a set of "fake Jonases," and various bonus scenes with the guys hamming it up. Of course, you have to have a Blu-ray player to get the most bang for your buck here: it's the 3-D bit that will have you fully entrenched, feeling like you are really rocking and rolling with the Jonases.

So, if your daughters are fans of the brothers, or you've been trying to find the "at-home concert experience" at reasonable prices, the 3D Concert Experience looks like it will do the trick. Parents might expect extended abstinence lectures or longwinded Biblical studies, but the overall experience is pretty tame, if you get over the complete objectification of the three brothers in question. Even then, I'm being picky: these guys have branded themselves and are doing a great job of sticking to that persona publicly. In a world where even Lebron can screw up (sports reference, for those keeping track), these guys seem like superstars arrived.
