Almost sixty years ago, a Cocker Spaniel named Lady met a mutt named Tramp, finding love, meaning, and the pursuit of family in Walt Disney's animated classic Lady and the Tramp. Now, you can own the classic in high-definition with a litter full of special features, and enjoy an old story with newfound insight.

Lady's upper-crust life is disturbed when her owners have a baby. She recognizes that her place is not the same anymore, and she explores the new life with her friends Jock the Scottish Terrier and Trusty the Hounddog. Of course, the Lady and Tramp meet and find friction together, but end up thrown together when Lady encounters Si and Am (classic!) and start a beautiful friendship.

Watching with Disney's Second Screen, you can hear insight from the creators of the movie, and hear the transcript of Walt Disney's story meetings about the movie read along with the film. It's intriguing to hear the thinking behind picking the time period, the types of dogs, etc. as Disney helped craft a story about different types of mentalities, even ideologies, like family/community versus independence.

Additionally, you'll have a greater appreciation of Disney's life thanks to his daughter, Diane Disney Miller, who shares her experience in "Remembering Dad." It's poignant in itself, but the overall vibe reminds you of the ways that Disney has impacted millions of family beyond his own. Fans of Disney's and the movie will enjoy "The Lady's Pedigree," deleted scenes, and other features that dot this particular edition.

Overall, Lady and the Tramp is excellent in its own right, exploring the wonder of family, and the power of friendship, while sharing about the changes that occur in life and the ways we should (or shouldn't) answer them. Disney movies are always worth seeing and treasuring, and some of these classics are priceless works of storytelling art.
