Last summer's top earners received
less-than-stellar reviews, as directors crammed in excessive characters
and failed to provide worthwhile endings. Don't get me wrong, they all
entertained; but please: is that really the ending we had hoped for
Captain Jack Sparrow? Wouldn't Spider-Man have been better off with one
less villain and a little more character development (and less of an
emo scene)?
To
help us forget nearly a year of disappointments, and to beat the summer
heat, we have plenty of options before it's time to roll out the picnic
blanket, head to the beach, and dive into Memorial Day weekend. This year, like no other, there is bang for your buck every chance you get, and it just won't wait until July 1st!

Spring Break Ain't Just for Kids Matthew Kinne
Politicians who commit sex scandals are dirty, no-good, unworthy-of-their-titles, son-of-a-guns.
Any political seat is a position of power, and
that attracts attention. To be able to change the course of history
with a signature, a say-so, a press conference or by passing a piece of
legislation, that is attractive. So sex scandals hurt a lot more than the people
involved in them. They hurt the community where the politician serves. And they hurt America in general. They open up the potential for the sin of lying (as in Kwame Kilpatrick's case) or blackmail (as the husband of the woman, who had an affair with Alexander Hamilton, did).

It's no surprise that I get nostalgic every time I
see the Fedora-shaped silhouette of Harrison Ford rising up in the
opening credits of Raiders of the Lost Ark, and the feeling doesn't go away even after the final riding into the sunset with his motley crew in The Last Crusade.
For all of my childhood and pre-adolescent years, Indiana Jones was my hero.
Now, years later, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg have announced the
unleashing of a new Indiana Jones adventure, another episode in what
seems like a Saturday morning serial. Flashing forward twenty-five years from the first installment, we can
see that Indiana Jones has undergone some transition. But there are
no mandatory books or seasons 1-4 to understand before sitting down
with the trilogy of adventures: it is just Harrison Ford onscreen,
doing his thing.

Besides a website, a dream and big bills, David Bruce also had friends,
well-connected friends who shared his vision and wanted to help. Qualified volunteer writers from all over America
came on board to help David, and soon a certifiable pop culture review
and commentary website was up and running and attracting readers.
In order to grow and attract advertising revenue, HJ needed a quality
of presentation that satisfied both readers and advertisers. It needed
content that readers found sufficiently reliable and unique, but also
professional enough to attract the advertising dollar of top-flight
businesses.
A change was needed, but how and with whom?
