Aguilar. And im happy to say that my master is a Jewish carpenter ! My home
church is SET FREE in Buena Park,Ca. AND im a break dancer in the posse,
so i would say i pullin' my part to git to heaven and see OUR heavenly father.
I really dont think that Jesus will hold something like watching a movie
that connects a person who betrayed him as a vampire aginst us ! |

for many years and never found them to be offensive. To reply to the child
whom threw out his cd GOOD FOR U. Make a stance for yourself and toss
out an out sider. But, don't persuade your views on anyone else just because

Some too deep to swim in. So don't try and analyize Tool, just enjoy the

-First off: I am so glad that I found this website. My favorite movie, as
it out-smarts me to this day!
The movie is pretty much based on a short story called "Incident at Owl
Creek" (I think). Describes the journey of a U.S. Civil War soldier who
is killed in action, and he either doesn't know it or refuses to accept
it. So, he goes on one last journey. Someone please correct me here if I'm
wrong.
For our Vietnam Vet friend - you are correct. That unit (Jacob's) never
saw action in that part of Vietnam (there is some weird website that points
out any and all bloopers in movies. So that's were I get that from.) But
perhaps I should secure TWO sources before I post such information. :-)
And thank you for your service, Sir. BTW, in the movie, the "Vietnam" scenes
remain the most realistic of any 'Nam movie that I've watched (Forrest Gump
a close second). No, I wasn't there in 'Nam, but I appreciated the casting
director's attention to hiring Black actors to play, like, half of Jacob's
squad. And they weren't "Denzel Washington" pretty boys, either. This level
of detail is very professional. The Black and po' White troops in the movie
are vulgar, but funny, too. They tease the "professor" and such. I've been
around these kind of men. That's how they were. And I am not being liberal
here - Blacks and po'Whites were drafted and sent over there while advantaged
college students hid & waited-out the war. Except for Jacob, I mean.
This movie captivates me for some reason. I finally bought a tape of it
(by chance - it was just for sale at the local video store - I didn't order
it or go out of my way). I thought, "Hey, that's my favorite movie!" I'm
still trying to figure it all out. That's kind of cool, I think.
Finally, I must note that the movie successfully sets the proper tone for
late 60's or early 70's New York City. (The film was recently shown on BRAVO
or A&E.) As you will recall, a half-hour into the movie, or so, a confused
or near-dead Jacob is back in NYC as a postal worker, so the camera pans
the skyline, including the WTC in the background (this was obligatory for
almost every NYC movie - remember? A director couldn't avoid them in a wide-screen
shot.). This is on the video that I purchased, but was quite nearly scratched
from the BRAVO or A&E TV version (just showed a hint of one the Towers,
I think), post 9/11. That was a strange edit, I thought, perhaps the result
of "formatting for you TV." But then again, it provided the viewer with
a rare glimpse into Jacob's world (reality or not?). A very strange feeling,
that. And that sound track! Haunting. |

The only good things
to happen at this years Oscars was that of Ron Howard, all Beautiful Mind,
all Lord of the Rings and Shrek awards. The rest was liberal sided agenda,
plus being loosely held together by the black female lesbian, Whoopi Goldberg.
The ratings even showed that this was the worst year in a loooonnnnngggg
time. Why can't we stay with the actually funny hosts like Bob Hope and
Billy Crystal, instead of playing the feminist color card. The fact that
both the best actor/actress awards were black people is appalling. Halle
Berry won over Judi Dench??? Judi Dench would have won if only she was
black. I had to shut off the tv for five minutes so i didn't have to see
Halle's ranting and fake crying. Don't get me wrong Denzel is an excellent
actor but he won for a movie where he glorified spitting in God's face
every other word, it kind of kills the whole "God is good. God is great."
comment huh? Sean Penn deserved this years, because he represented a retarded
man (which he convincingly plays) trying to keep his daughter and he stands
for doing the right thing and that little virtue of HONESTY. But apparently
that was not good compared to the God slandering Training Day. The happiest
point of the Oscars was when Ron Howard, who actually deserved the Oscar,
got up and spoke from his heart without fake crying and theatrics. Lord
of the Rings made a good showing also, which i was very glad, yet i still
think that Ian McKellan should have won best supp. actor, even though
i was recently informed that he is blatantly gay. I was so happy when
Shrek won, because that movie showed all of the hypocrisy Disney has ever
stood for and it took guts to bring it out in the open. So anyways that
is a review from an 18 year old Texan. If any of you want to disregard
my review of the Oscars because of my age, that is fine but very very
lame. I am a conservative Christian and I have a hard time with people
who give the minority special privileges when in fact they don't deserve

NOTES ON MATRIX

I only first saw the movie a few months ago on the recommendation of a Christian
friend. I was hesitant as it was rated "R" but went ahead. He told me to
view it with the idea of breaking free from addiction in mind. Wow was I
blown away. I have seen it 5 times now and took many notes on it. I just
ran across your site and would like to add my notes to it.
Before we are set
free and become Christians we only know of the physical world and we are
completely controlled and bound by its laws. Once we are freed we do not
have to be bound by it. Many of us choose to because we do not freely
use the power of the Holy Spirit. Just as the people that go back into
the matrix have different levels of ability and are able do things that
defy the matrix laws (such as fly) so we have different levels of faith.
We do not have to live in fear and in bondage to our surroundings with
Gods power but we choose to. Jesus said that if we had the faith of a
mustard seed we could move mountains, he also calmed and had power over
the natural world. Jesus had complete power over the natural world just
as Neo did at the end.
Those who went back
were not able to directly fight against those in control of the matrix
(ie demons) but were told not to mess with them and run away. Only Neo
was able to directly take on the demons. We Christians are to stay away
from demons and only with the power of Jesus can we deal with them. Can't
fight the agents, except for Neo, we can not fight Satan on our own but
Jesus can.

When Neo is told to climb
out the window he can not believe what he is asked to do, and it makes no
sense to him. We do not always understand Gods direction and must step out
in faith.
They had scars from the
bondage such as the connection on the neck and, muscles that have never
been used had to be exercised and practiced. Though we become freed as Christians
we still have scars from our time in bondage. When we wake up to the spiritual
world we have abilities that we have never used and must learn to walk again
as children and practice our faith and practice walking in the power of
the spirit.
The Matrix is built to
keep us under control.
If you go back would you want to stay?
"It is easier to free
a younger mind that an older" just as it easier for a younger person to
become a believer than an older one.

I can show you the door but you have to walk through it."
We can show people the way of salvation but each one must choose for themselves.
Just as the matrix feels
more real than the real world, the physical world feels more real than the
spiritual.
Billions of people living
out their lives oblivious to their predicament
Willing to give his life for the truth
There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.
The only way to communicate with those bound by the matrix is to go into
it. Christ comming to the physical world as man.
Chosen to save them from the matrix
Just as Neo first died in the matrix before he was able to conquer it so
Christ had to die in our physical world to conquer it.

Some visiting missionaries' take on our view of the world was that God is
doing great things in the world but because of our negative press, we don't
hear about them. Our press wants us to believe that the world is a negative,
unsafe place and that the only place we are safe is... in our homes....
watching tv! I think the US has fallen for that hook, line, and sinker.
I work in public schools - talk about negative press. When I try to suggest
that teachers are better and schools are better than when I was in school,
people laugh at me! They choose to believe the press, the politicians, etc.
etc. that our public schools are a disgrace and just don't want to be confused
by any other perspective.

You know...
My wife and I haven't been regularly attending church since we got married
in 2000. I've been wondering if something was wrong with me. After all,
I'm a Christian. I'm supposed to be rising up early Sunday morning with
a heart ready to serve and worship the Lord. Right?
But somehow, in spite
of the prophecised doom and gloom I have gotten from people because I haven't
gone to church, I've come to know the Lord in a stronger way. I've seen
victories and deliverances that I've been waiting for all my life.
Part of me wonders if
I'm missing the boat and if this "church sabbatical" is gonna come back
and bite me in the butt. Part of me is enjoying the freedom to rest and
enjoy a pleasant Sunday afternoon...something I haven't been able to do
after years of getting up at 9:30 to go to church at 11:30 and getting out
at 2:00 and having a quick lunch only to gobble it down and hurry back to
church at 4:00 for the 5:00 evening service.
I don't quite know what's
going on. But from David's comments and from other people's comments here,
it looks like God is trying to transition us out of being church dwellers
and into followers and worshippers of Jesus. Let us just sit back and see
how He moves.

About 66 AD a book was written worning the people of that time that He (God)
was discusted with His Chosen People after trying time after time over thousands
of years, to get them to streighten up. So, he told the people what was
going to happen to his Chosen People and the Land He gave them (the 12 tribes).
This information was given to the author of the Book by God thru Jesus's
Angel and the Book is the closest N.T. writing to God's and Jesus's authorization.
This book is normally the last book in the Holy Bible.
It all came true! The land of Isrl. was completely distroyed and God denounced
His House so he let the Temple be desrtoyed and will never let it be rebuilt
as it was. The Temple was destroyed, only leaving a Wall to remind the people
what he let be done by the Roman armys.
Their World was their Land that God had given them and and at that time
took back from them. They had made their Land a World of horrors.
Nero is the 666 which a lot of books have been written, although many of
the authors did or do not understand the Bible. Also many authors and publishers
have made billions of dollars with misconceptions; such as that the "War"
of Armigeddion which was a gathering place and not a War, nor will it ever
be such by God's hand.
Read and study hard (using the rest of the Bible and other History books),
the Book of Rev., and ""you will be blessed"".

church #'s Drop

Hey David,
Well, we live in the Midwest in Wheaton so I don't know how this compares
to other places.
1. The church lacks grace. I think the church has less grace than the Bar
in Cheers. It is a critical club mentality and people of one type attend.
Those who give a lot of money and are active believe themselves more important
than others. So my guess is the broader spectrum of society will feel judged
there for superficial things in the measure of appearance or type, or behavior
(like movie attendance in some places). Church just isn't very diverse so
if you are at all different from the mean you will be uncomfortable. The
present and just past generation of youth has no real mean, it is post modern.
So being untypical as a norm they will not easily fit into a church setting.
2. The church does not project a loving Spirit filled environment of forgiven
sinners. After graduate School, when I was in Seminary for a year it was
suggested Church discipline might be a solution to the unloving nature of
churchmen but how do you discipline someone for pride, or gossip or slander.
These things are just as damaging to us as an online addiction to something
but only the latter would be confronted by the elders if that. Church isn't
safe and I am reasonably sure more than half of the people in attendance
there are not Christians. Francis Schafer and RC Sproul both said that 70%
of those in attendance at church on Sunday are not saved. So in this community
one does not easily sense the presence of God. I don't feel safe there and
I have nothing to hide except my earring and pony tail (it is shorter than
the founders as depicted in "The Patriot"). The church is weak without leaders
who love and cannot really purify itself. I suppose this is why the blood
of the Martyrs is the seed of the church, it keeps it pure, in a manner
few other things will. Speaking as someone who has youth pastored in the
evangelical church and mainline church I believe the mainline churches have
a different problem, they have really lost the spirit with rare exception,
for the most part by departing from the scriptures. The Bishop of the denomination
I served in the Northern Chicago area did not believe in the deity of Christ
for example so this will have spiritually deprecating trickle down effects.
3. The Church does not pray. Prayer meeting which are well attended are
uncommon, few people go or believe in the importance of praying as a body
for the church. I have a graduate degree in theology and I have thought
and read about these things a bit. Unless I misread the scriptures I believe
there is only one answer for our problems and it is prayer. This seems to
be the last resort. But Christ says He will build His Church and the programmatic
and theological ideas are not going to solve what is really in decline in
our churches which is spirituality or the real sense of the presence of
the Holy Spirit. Why are the Churches in decline while interest in spirituality
is up? Because God will only move in these places if the glory is His, if
the glory goes to our programs, or our perceived goodness the result will
be a poison to our own souls with a net loss when all is said and done.
He must be first in everything and this comes only by our prayers. When
we are desperate enough we will go there and do it and He will bless and
no one will say it was their effort or program or method than made the results,
which many in the church growth movement say now.

The Jesus Miniseries had a great effect on me - I was not a christian when
I saw it, but it had such an impact on me. In particular, the scene at the
end, which Cbs cut was the most memorable scene for me which shows Jesus
walking on earth which he does by way of The Holy Spirit. I am only very
sorry that I can not obtain a copy of this series on video! I have tried
for so long, but it seems I can not get one compatible for our vcrs in Australia.
Our vcrs use the Pal system. I hope and pray that the tv stations here show
it again so I can record it myself.
