I just surfed into your site, and I really liked it. I have a question, however. Why is there not a review for "Megiddo: The Omega Code 2" on there? I read your review on The Omega Code, and I agree in almost everything. But if you think Megiddo is just a little- improved O.C., you will be blown away. Megiddo is 4x better than the O.C. - the plot, the drama, everything. The Battle of Armageddon is very well-done. The special effects just amaze you. I hope you've seen this production. Hundreds have been saved through it, many in the theater!! Please do a review on it as soon as possible. Oh, the video & DVD is coming out on Feb. 26 everywhere. Well, that's it. Please reply!!! People born in the late 1950's and early 1960's such as myself were ignored by the media. We are lumped in the babyboomer group but were too young to have been involved with the anti-war movement and the other activities that older group was involved in. The generation x group which is from 25 to 35 years old needs to grow up. Augustine was around thirty when he converted to chirst but there were no special art or music created for him to have become a chirstian. Generation x like my age group are longer the youngest group around. I feel that my group were the true lost geneation since the moral rules started to change for those who were teenagers in the 1970's, and the media totally missed out on us.

Hello! I must confess, I am an ardent fan of (brilliant) fantasy movies and a Fundamentalist/Evangelical Christian. I have heard all arguments against Lord of The Rings, as well as the numerous comparisons (although I don't think there is any comparison) to Harry Potter. Yes, God despises witchcraft. Yes, I believe that people can 'open a door' to spiritual attack/oppression from partaking in the occult. I thought Lord of The Rings was brilliant! It was totally allegorical - I could see so many similarities to the struggles/battles we face as Christians. I saw on screen how relentless the Enemy is - he never lets up! God seriously dealt with my judgemental tendencies - Remember the part where Gandalf tells Frodo (paraphrased): "There are dead people who should be living, and living people that should be dead - you don't have the wisdom to decide who is which" Oh, my goodness! I sat there and squirmed for the rest of the movie!!! I loved it!

GOOD MOVIE!

Hi David-
Finally watched "Deep Impact" on TV last night (yeah, I know, I'm a little late); was very impressed, a deeply (no pun intended) poetic film. The key theme I saw in it was "sacrifice," laying down your life for another. I especially liked the progression of Tea Leoni's character throughout the film, from self-interested business-woman to forgiving "Prodigal Daughter." The moments where she gave up her helicopter seat and spent her final moments with her dad on the beach were incredible.
It was kind of freaky seeing the World Trade Center in the film.

this is in response to the person claiming to be a teacher and to all those who say to be wary of metal bands such as Megadeth:

I am an adult male, 24 years old with no arrest record, perfect credit, always paid my bills on time, and am also a college graduate. I am a perfectly well-adjusted human being, and I grew up on MEGADETH. Yes, lyrically, Dave Mustaine can be rather pessimistic at times. And musically, he's relentless in his pursuit or speed and power. But to suggest the devil in his music, get real. I happen to recall the past 24 years as being rather trying times, and no matter how much faith the church wants you to have, just look around. The toilet bowl is far from being clean. There is no reasonable argument that rock music breeds satanism. And besides, Satanism is a perfectly viable religion, and I live in a country (U.S.A) that provides me with the right to worship the devil until I'm blue in the face. It's perfectly legal. And please stop harassing rock musicians because the music is too heavy for you. It's ridiculous and you can't stop human beings from getting enjoyment out of it. If you have a problem with what I'm saying, visit me at smokintongues.com. It's not metal, but you can make a case that were a satanic pop band if you really want to dig for the negative. So much for spirituality and positive thinking. Hypocrites.

I am so disgusted with your website. It blasphemes my Lord Jesus. You as well as I KNOW all sci-fi & fantasy stories have Satanic undertones. You glamorize these horrible movies. The Bible is very clear that we as Christians are to separate from evil and that includes what we SEE & WATCH with our eyes. You and many other Christians try to justify these horrific movies because you are so entranced with them. You "Christianize" them. I have brutally, murdered, family members-including children-laying six feet under in coffins right now-all because the murderer-(supposedly a "Christian")-is entranced with these types of movies and had to play out a fantasy based on a movie. Shame on what you promote!!

Although, I don't agree with your meaning behind the movie, I can understand why you chose to see it that way. Just to let you know, I did a little research & Powder was not immaculately conceived.

Your site & input made for much to think about, which I appreciate & respect. Thank you.

My view on the meaning behind the movie lies more on the Gaia theory - that we were made from the Earth & we give back to it from birth through death. We are energy. Although, I am not a follower of Gaia, the idea offers me true wonderment. Powder is one of many movies which make me think of the Gaia Theory, Matrix & Final Fantasy included.

I had more to say, but as it is 12:25 a.m., I'm quite exhausted.

At first I was happy to see a site that acknowledged the fact that the church simply overlapped pagan traditions with their own beliefs. Thus the church has been corrupted. But, it's funny to see that eventhough you have all this information, you still believe in the church and that Jesus is God. You still believe in the pagan traditions that were incorporated into the early church..that were never ordained by God. You probably even celebrate halloween with your children! (Myth is an important vehicle of truth. I do not share you ridged and literal approach. God has always used myth. Myth is good. Myth did not corrupt the Church. It enhanced it. -David)

Firstly, Jesus was not officially declared God until the year 325 A.D. at the first council of nicea. this means that 325 years after the death of Jesus, people were still confused on the issue of whether Jesus was or was not God. Therefore, the disciples of Jesus obviously had nothing to do with this decision because it was 300 years after their lifetime..just philosophers and people in high places...a big issue at the council of nicea was that there were two opposing sides...the side that believed Jesus was God...and the other side that believed Jesus was sent by God (thus, a prophet). Hmm, (You do not know your history very well. John 1:1 states Jesus "was God." and John was a disciple. 300 years later it was reaffirmed. -David)

Secondly,the bible has obviously been changed throughout the centuries...I know this from reading various books, but also the main proof I have of it is that a bible my mother had when she was young has different books and wording than the bible i was given when i was young. Now, if the bible can be changed in our own lifetime...what makes you think the bible has not been changed over a period of 2000 years?? (Translations are not changes. You need to get better facts. -David)

I just want to say that, I am 20 years old, I used to be a catholic, but I recently converted to Islam for many important reasons. I realized that the Qu'ran has many of the same stories the bible does. Stories of moses, abraham, jesus, etc., which confirm many things written in the bible. The main thing that caused me to realize that Jesus was not God is the fact that he says so himself many times throughout the new testament...he in fact calls himself a prophet, sent only on the authority of God. example verses: (Luke 7:16, Mark 10:18, Matt.13:53-58, John 6:38, John 14:28, etc.) Also, there is proof in the bible and then confirmed in the Qu'ran that Jesus did not die on the cross, but God saved him from it. In Mark 14:35-36, Jesus prays to God to save him from being crucified. In Luke 24:36-43, Jesus confirms the story that the angels told about Jesus being alive, and tells his disciples not to fear because he is not a spirit, but he is alive. He goes on to say that a spirit does not have flesh and bones, and then he eats with them! just a simple reminder that i don't think SPIRITS eat food either. (You do not have a good grasp of Christian faith. The Bible is very clear about the death and the physical resurrection of Jesus. -David)

Lastly, there is proof that the jews were waiting for three distinct people to come. 1. elijah (elias) 2. the messiah 3. "that" prophet (refering to deut. 18:18, prophet like unto moses). Now, since elias and the messiah, jesus, already came, who is this mysterious prophet that the jews were waiting for? In John 16:7-8,13, Jesus says that if he does not leave, then the "helper", "counselor", "paraclete", etc. (different bible translations) will not come. Who is that helper? Muhammed. Muhammed came to preach the final word of God, for ALL mankind, not just arab people. And he confirmed everything that the earlier prophets preached, and that is to worship ONE GOD.

I just wanted to write this to you so that you might check it out for yourself. I realize that I'm not going to drastically change your mind from just this e-mail, but, I hope that you can see at least some truth in what i have written.

Does anyone ever wonder why Jesus, supposedly God Incarnate, never saw fit to write any of his teachings down himself and left it to the NT authors a hundred or so years later? I can tell you. Because Jesus, along with most of the Jewish population that came from "working class" or poorer families, was probably illiterate. (And so what? -David) Also, if Jesus were God here on earth, why didn't he see fit to correct mankind on its errors regarding the science of the time. (What for? Why? -David) Jesus, and everybody else from the time period, went to their graves believing the world was flat. ("..ends of the Earth..." and so forth) (We still use this expression. What of it? -David) Just imagine how much faster the world would have come out of its primitive state if Jesus, as God, would've said "Hold on, guys. You've got it all wrong. The Earth is actually a globe. (What, someone would have listened? Your points are a little strange. -David) And guess what. It's not actually the center of the universe either. Heaven isn't really up there just on the other side of the clouds and you might as well stop digging, because Hell isn't down under the soil either." (Heaven fills the universe and the light of heaven is the fire of Hell. I truly am lost in your direction of your logic. You are very literal in your world view. -David)

Finally, if Jesus were God, he must've known all the terrible things that would be done by his followers in the coming centuries in his name, the Inquisition, et al. How could he not have said "Let no man burn the flesh or slice the eyelids or tear the limbs from another man in my name."? (Jesus did say it in a different way: "Love your enemies." -David) I shudder to think of the millions of lives that could've been saved throughout history if Jesus had said "I have come bringing not a sword, but peace", instead of the other way around. (What sword was Jesus referring too? I do not recall any story of Jesus bringing a literal sword. Do you? -David)

I have just finished watching the movie again. I watch it everytime it comes on tv. It has such a powerful meaning that it seems that no else around me can grasp what the movie really means. for me it means many things. One is that everything and everyone is part of everything else and that nothing every really dies and goes away but will continue to live forever, maybe in other forms of energy but still live. Maybe that is what your soul is really all about. No end ever. We know so little about what life really is and it is really sad that many people go through their entire life and never really stop to think who they are or where they came from and where they are going. This movie is the most powerful movie I have ever seen. It has beena major influence in my life. I wonder if the creator of this film realizes just what they have done. I hope so.

I don't know who I am presently writing to, but I do agree with much you say. I personally was a Buddhist prior to finding faith in Jesus Christ. Since 1984, I have walked with Christ and in 1999, I stopped attending Church waiting upon the Lord for an answer to our generational dilemma. I read that 30 million Christians do not attend Church today. Since I stopped attending Church and started being the Church, I have participated in more fruitful activity, leading others to Christ, than in my previous years. Now, I wonder, where do we go from here. I have been asked to start "A Church" . What does that mean? Everyone seems to have an answer. But I still have not heard from the Lord on this for myself and for the small community of lost sheep. I am attempting to change my language from I go to such and such church, or my pastor is so and so, he's awesome. Jesus is awesome. I feel that for the last several years God is weaning my heart from trust in men, to trust in Him. At the same time He is showing me that we are to love the Body of Christ in all its myriad sin. He loved us while we were yet sinners. We are to be like Him.

I am happy to have stumbled upon your site. Presently I am working on a twenty minute presentation for a Hollywood prayer initiative to inform others about the influence of Buddhism through Hollywood. Any thoughts? I have seen most of the Buddha films and am interested in writing something which helps us understand the human spirituality, but at the same time their determined path away from seeking Jesus as the only way. Please pray for me. Are you locally based, Los Angeles area? My family comes from the Motion picture business. My grandfather James Montrose was a sound producer for the first talking film at Warner Brothers, the Jazz Singer. My cousin, Tony Dow used to play in Leave it to Beaver. So I have some vested interest in seeing my family know Jesus and Him crucified, and the joy that He has given us in an eternal relationship with Him.

Today is Jan. 14, 2002. It's been about five years since the movie first came out, and I regret not having seen it sooner. Like most of the Christian community I was suspicious of the movie when it first came out. Now, like the people who posted responses on this site, I have nothing but praise for this film. I have been recommending it to all my friends in church. I can even see some sermons coming from this film!

It is a powerful visual to show what God can do in spite of ourselves and our humanity. I will definitely recommend this film as a prelude to the next men's retreat.

It worries me when Christians worry to the point of encouraging Satanic Hysteria. Haven't any of these people gotten to the end of the story yet? GOD WINS! Every knee shall bow, and declare that he is CHRIST THE LORD. 'Nuff said.

We accepted Satan into this world, when, as a species, we ignored God's directive, and ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. We can't defeat Satan by ourselves, BUT WE DON'T HAVE TO. Didn't any of these same hand-wringing Christians ever read John 3:16? God gave his Son, so that we may live. Again, 'nuff said.

This movie claimed to be "Capra-esque", and yet all it could muster is the tired call from the left for tolerance to even those who would seek the overthrow of our government. Communism is our biggest enemy in the world today.

This movie takes patriotic values and then turns them upside down and makes those who hate our Republican form of Democracy, and its freedom, the heroes. Many of my relatives fought in World War II and they hated the Communists just as much as the Nazis and Japanese...but in a world of pressing enemies they had to face the biggest threat of that time - the Axis powers...when in reality Stalin and the Soviets killed more people than the Nazis ever did.

There WAS, in fact, a Communist threat in Hollywood. And Joseph McCarthy was an American hero. And yet, many of the liberals today hold positions controlling the media, so that this true picture is turned on its head.
