There are lessons here that all people of faith can learn from. The importance of being true to your word and doing what you say you will do is honored in many cultures. There is something that is appreciated
about a person who is there for you when no one else is, but this kind of loyalty seems rare in people of every religion.

I have too much respect for the idea of God to make it responsible for such an absurd world.
--Georges Duhamel (1884 - 1966)

--Rita Rudner
Be peaceful, be courteous, obey the law, respect everyone; but if someone puts his hand on you, send him to the cemetery.
--Malcolm X (1925 - 1965), Malcolm X Speaks, 1965
I owe my success to having listened respectfully to the very best advice, and then going away and doing the exact opposite.
--G. K. Chesterton (1874 - 1936)
