It’s the most wonderful time of year and this year is even more wonderful thanks to JJ Heller who just released her first full-length Christmas album. Unto Us dropped November 11th and my home is filled with the sweet sound of JJ singing the Christmas classics.

Unto Us started as a Kickstarter project, asking fans to pledge $30,000 to complete the album. Heller sweetened the deal by making her own pledge. For every $15 donated to the project, Heller would donate her lullaby album, I Dream of You, to hospitals to play in the NICU for families needing a little bit of comfort. Thanks to generous fans, the project raised $81,000 and over 4,000 albums were donated to hospitals nationwide.

Heller boasts a few original tracks on this album, including the beautiful “Christmas Is Here,” “Unto Us,” and “Oh, To See Christmas.” JJ also brings her angelic vocals to classics such as “Silent Night,” “Let it Snow,” and “O Little Town of Bethlehem.” Such a great mix of old and new!

Fans will get an added treat this season as four new video singles will be launching throughout the coming weeks. The  stunning “Christmas is Here” lyric video, which was shot in an old cathedral is amazing. If this video doesn’t get you into the holiday spirit, nothing will. The wintery “Unto Us” lyric video also released last week.

Unto Us is beautiful and elegant yet festive and cheery. Heller delivered us all an early Christmas gift with the release of this album. I do not think there is another artist out there with vocals as pure and beautiful as Heller. If you have never had the chance to see her live, I highly recommend it. She is the only artist I know that sounds just as remarkable on stage as she does in the studio. Such a treat. You can check out her upcoming tour schedule here.

Grab a copy of Unto Us now from Heller’s website or iTunes or Amazon. It will make a great stocking stuffer.

Make sure to follow her on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, where she is always updating fans with new videos and pictures from the road.

I love music and can literally remember lyrics decades after last hearing them. Lyrics with depth are good for my soul and books that challenge me are good for my heart. I enjoy writing and can be found at for fun or for those impacted by the suicide of a loved one.
